Well,
first of all what i've noticed in v2.9 is that there are approximetly 20 tha same colours occuring betewwn 0 and 255. No olive, orange, pink...

Is it possible to change the code so that user may use RGB palette?

These are the available colors:

Appearance will be a bit different on the OSTC screen, of course.

Will anyone be so kind and post a screenshot from 2N with settings as above so that I may check if there's something wrong with my display?

Sorry for the poor quality but i'm still in bed.

With my mk2 I seem to get the same functionality as you.

Colours 160 to 191 seem about right and then 224 to 255 looks ok again but from 192 to 223 there seems to be no red channel in there at all.

Thank You. In some way I was hoping to see that, now I know I don't have dying display.

That's actually true.... Thanks for sharing this bug.

This bug affects Mk.2 and 2N units and will be fixed in the coming 3.0.

Attached is a pre-release with this issue fixed.

Matthias

......and that is why i like HW. If you have a bug and can reliably reproduce a bug then it typically gets fixed.

Was this fix incorporated in the official 3.00 release?

I'm asking as my color config still is like the pics below (same result after complete CF reset and/or setting on the OSTC itself and not through OSTC tools).
Note the color of text and battery symbol...
Yellow is impossible to get on my device!

I did not try on my OSTC yet, but anyway i don't understand why it is so important to change colors?!? In my early OSTC-Days i was playing around with the colorsettings too, but these days i'm happy with the default settings by HW...

There's a lot of things you Scubatinoo don't understand or agree with after following your posts in the forum.

This was a bug report of a function that has existed since the start of this computer, I hope you can handle that without adding imho totally pointless comments as yours above!

Cheers :)
/Petter

ps. I dive a lot in waters that are very silty at times, so to have all text in bright white actually blinds me when reading the computer. I'd like to have some color that is less bright, and since the computer was advertised to have that function and HW already confirmed a bug earlier, I'd like it to work as intended!

Hi Petter,

Try 253 or 252 for a nice yellow.

180 in 8Bit RGB RRRGGGBB is "10110100", which means both RED and GREEN are quite dark.

This is not actually a bug (Your 180 is correctly translated) but an indifference in the color interpretation between the PC screen and the computer screen and different gamma values.

And I 100% agree that intended features should work as advertised no matter if they are important or not.

Regards,
Matthias

So the color chart in your first reply in this thread is quite useless then?

Any plans for a gamma corrected color chart so we know what to test without manually have to scroll through 255 different settings? :)

Nope, only things that are not important...

I was asking about the colortable several months ago - by this time it was not regonized as a bug and it did't annoy me. If it's fixed now, it's ok, but i still don't care much about colors...

Do you know the feature "Display" in Dive Mode Menu? This is exactly what you want...
