I have just ordered my 'sport' and expect it tomorrow, well I hope so anyway.
Can software be downloaded to the iPad and the Bluetooth on the iPad be used?

Hi,

I'm afraid iOS is not compatible with the bluetooth in the "Sport". Android devices will work ("Divemate" already implemented the OSTC Sport).

Well my sport arrived and was under the water the very next day.....but alongside my old vyper air. This helped me understand the sport and adjust between dives. Sport is so easy that I belive I have it sorted already and so happy together!
Linked to PC via Bluetooth but reads as 'offline' any ideas??

Start the "OSTC Companion" and the Bluetooth Mode in the "Sport" and click on "Reconnect" in the Companion. What happens?

Have the companion and still 'not connected' showing. I have also registered and paid but have received nothing via email as login registration!!!!
This appears to be less than straightforward and definitely much more complicated than the sport itself!

Having tried to link via Bluetooth dozens of times, I managed it once and set name but then lost connection! It was via comm port 4 but no matter what I do now it will not connect.....have removed and replaced several times too!
On companion it reads at the bottom 'Port COM 4: writeBlock error'.
Still no email received for a registration/ Activation Password but confirmation of payment via Paypal!

The OSTC Companion is free, of course. No need for any payment!

I can not say what does not work in detail at your place. Windows 8 and 8.1 are fully supported and tested for the sport. Try another Bluetooth dongle. Maybe this is a driver/incompatibility issue.

I have now tried another BTooth dongle and removed/reloaded all software but same position!
In companion it reads com port 4 Writeblock and will not connect???

IT guy at work suggests the most likely to be, the Sport is the problem???????

Please return the "sport" to us or your dealer for a check. I'm pretty sure it can be updated.

Many thanks for all your help on this. My Sport has now linked to the PC and all latest firmware added.
The Comms port changes 'itself' for what seems each occasion and this makes connection slightly problematic, a pain shall we say!
I am disappointed that having sorted this out, that the planner that WAS downloaded from the HW website is not supported by you?

Hello,

The changing COM-port should be fixed with the 10.12 - it will stay on the port now as long as you don't "unpair" the connection.

"OSTC-Planner" is not a Heinrichs Weikamp software and not for download on our webpage.

We support external programmers (a lot) to have as much compatible software as possible but we can only give very limited support for external logbook programs.

Matthias

Wow thats bad news. I've just ordered the Sport and thought I'd be able to sync my dives on the dive spot with my iPhone6. Maybe should have read the forums first....

Will this get fixed eventually?

thanks

Hi,

It is not us but Apple that does limit the support within iOS for standard high-speed Bluetooth as it used in the OSTC sport.

kind regards,

I hear you but the Shearwater Patrol can deal with iOS, as can the Oceanic VTX, so there must be a way to handle it.

Blaming Apple of course is always the easy solution :-))

Are you trying to overcome this issue as it must be possible and would make a great addition to the benefit of the 'sport'
Now I am used to this 'sport' losing it and the envy of some buddies who can see mine but not their own computer!
Come on HW sort this apple issue,
