First dive and comment

Hello,

I made my first dive with an OSTC yesterday evening (Riedsort, Lake of Lucerne; temp for deco is ok but visibility start to decrease).

Every thing was fine et it is realy easy to follow, switch gas. Data shown as depth or temp were really close to my vytec.

One comment: I realize under water that I did not check my GF high and low before to dive, and there is no way to do it under water. No real way also to know in which deco mode we are.

Cheers,

Antoine

I think you should plan your dive before you dive and check your GF and decomode.
For now it is very handy that you can change your gases during the dive in case you lose one or have problems with a bottle.
Changing GF's during a dive would make the algoritme very complex.

Antoine, are you used to dive with a helium / oxy analyser in your pocket ? In case you're not sure of the mix you are breathing ? :)

Hello Antoine,

We have a pre-dive screen planned where you can check all settings - before the dive. A switch of the GF values during the dive is not possible. You could manually decompress with the GF value displayed but the displayed deco will be based on the the pre-selected settings.

regards,
Matthias

Pour les esprits chagrins ou ironiques...

Since it was a first dive with the OSTC I dove with my usual run time and I was playing with the menu. During my play, I fiugure out that I did not check my GF on the OSTC (stupide, I am...) and so I was looking for the information.

Matthias,
I am not sure to understand here:

Just to say that you can ignore deco informations and decompress by following GF indicator on your ostc. For instance, you have a 20/60 setting, which is too conservative for you. Don't follow the decostop info, check your GF and go up to the depth you want your GF to be. So you can approximately, and manually, follow any GF setting you decide under water.

Not sure to be very clear...
