Old firmware style going a way?

The new OSTC2 and cR looks like the OSTC3 so are you moving away from the firmware used in the old OSTC and Mk2 ?

OSTC3 and the OSTC Mk.2, 2N and 2C always had different firmwares (and hardwares). And due to this hardware differences we have to maintain two different firmwares.

But all new computers wont have it ?
