hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.82 beta
Hello,
Long time no beta version for the hwOS. Attached to this post is the new 1.82 beta with some new features for testers:
CHANGE: change button sensitivity range and default (OSTC2)
NEW: MOD Warning (Can be disabled)
NEW: Depth dependend ascend speed (Can be disabled)
NEW: Graphical speed indicator (Can be disabled)
NEW: Option to always show the ppO2, shows ppO2 for Diluent in CC mode
NEW: Mode Auto SP: Automatically switches the SP during descent (CC Mode)
NEW: Deco planer computes gas consumption for all gases and can compute bailout plans for CC modes
Please use only in the simulator or when carrying a backup computer during diving.
Downgrading to the 1.81 is, as always, possible and will not corrupt any settings or logbook data.
Enjoy the weekend,
Matthias

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.82 beta
Dear Matthias,
I have buttons sensibility problems with my new OSTC 2, FW 1.81.
Buttons are sometimes very, very hard to press. Sometimes both, sometimes just one. The sensibility gets normal after a reboot. It's hard to get the reboot, because when it happens you can't move in menu with fingers. I had to use a peace of wood to push buttons. I found that it happens with 40% (default) and also with 20% buttons sensibility too.
Will FW 1.82 solve this problems? Where can I get the 1.82 beta?
Regards,
Boris

Hi,
I had the same issue with another brand computer using the same buttons.
One button just didn't want to react on pressing, no matter how hard I pressed it.
The problem was solved by sligthly tapping the button with my finger.

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.82 beta
Hi,
The term "Sensitivity" is a bit problematic because lower values mean higher sensitivity... As soon as I have found a better name this will be renamed.
The buttons are new and in some kind different to our old ones:
- The membrane is three times as thick as in the old ones. That results in much more robustness and lower sensitivity. Unfortunately we had some users using a boltsnap to tap on them. This resulted in replacing quite a lot of buttons recently... The new buttons are more robust.
- The buttons are optimized for temperatures between zero and 25 degrees. Especially when it's very hot they are stiffer then intend, unfortunately. This is going to be changed with a firmware update at some point.
regards,
Matthias

Re: hwOS for OSTC3, cR and OSTC 2: 1.82 beta
last week I've buyed ostc2...I meet problems with sensitivity of left button,it's very hard to push with 40%...once set to 20% it's gonna better, but not ever.sometimes it not react well,so you have to push it strongly.
Firmware vertion 1.81
No problems meet with right button, this work properly.

Hi Matthias,
what about "NEW: Mode Auto SP: Automatically switches the SP during descent (CC Mode)"
I can't find it in the menu.

Hello Boris,
Menu -> CCR Setup -> CCR Mode: Auto And the OSTC will select the SP2-5 (It starts with SP1) during the descent.

Matthias

Hi,
That's unfortunately, true. The OSTC2 does not yet support "Auto SP" mode. Will be available in the next version.
regards,
Matthias
