OSTC3 1.81, Subsurface 4.4.2 (win): Cannot download dives

Hi.

Recently ran out of battery during a shallow dive. Replaced battery and tried to download previous logged dives.

No dives are shown in the list and the Download button changes to Retry.
If I choose "Force download" I get an "Dive data import error".

Attached subsurface.log and subsurface_forced.log.

Regards,
/Henrik Dohlmann

Oh, and that was a bit short. Sorry...

Please, can anybody hint at what I should try to fix the download problem?

I have tried downloading the logged dives with the latest OSTCProfile from OSTCTools beta9.
It does not produce any errors.
Attached profiles as ostctools_profiles.zip.

I have tried using the libdivecomputer unversal test program:
[pre]universal.exe -v -l ostc3.log -d ost3.xml -b ostc3 COM4[/pre]
It also shows no errors in log or xml.
Attached output as universal_xml.zip and universal_bin_log.zip.

Can anyone spot something strange in this data?

Hmm, if it can be imported from the OSTC Tools it should be fine with Subsurface. Do you have any dive that is shown with "1.80" in the internal logbook?

Embarrasingly, after mucking around with all the other tools, I just retried using Subsurfarce (thinking I would produce a dump), and now it loads all dives.

So sorry about wasting everybody's time :(

The fist log file you posted, subsurface.log, everything looked great after a qick glance. I haven't dug into it deeper.

The second log file, subsurface_force.log, there where no answer from the device. Maybee it wasn't connected, or timed out and rebooted exactly when you tried to download.

The "Force download of all dives" option doesn't affect how the communication is done with the device, it just tells subsurface to not care about what's already in your logbook, and just download everything from the device.

So, the first time when you got "nothing" to in the download dialog, subsurface didn't see any new dives on the device, that wasn't already in your log book.

Btw, thanks for the ostctools profiles, I tried to produce some ostctools testdata with profiles from a OSTC3 device, to add support for importing those files into subsurface, but i never managed to get ostctools to work against my OSTC3. Subsurface already supports importing ostctools profiles from ostc2 devices and probably soon profiles from ostc3 devices to =)

Thank you for the explanation of the options and their effect.
When I had the problem it was consistently failing when I tried with force...

You are welcome regarding the profiles. At least something good might come out of my temporary panic :-)
