Has anyone ever used a rechargeable 14500 battery instead of the SAFT LS14500?
These are popping up on ebay and I already have a charger.

Yes, these work fine in the OSTC3. I wouldn't trust the capacity rating (2,4Ah seems unrealistic for a AA rechargeable...)

For the battery cap? It's a 14x2 NBR 70A - contact us directly for some spares: info@heinrichsweikamp.com

I see it's "only" 2,3Ah - still ~100% more then the real value, most likely.

I use the 3.7v lithium ion batteries and they work well but do not use those GTL batteries they are rubbish!
Choose a really good quality one.
The maximum real output of a good one is approx 900-1000 mah if they state more than that ignore it, they are lying.

Matthias, can you add the rechangeable 3,6V battery type to the battery menu?

Re: OSCT3 - Using a Rechargeable 14500 Battery?
I also purchased some Nitecore 750Mah 3.6v 14500 batteries. They seem to be solid but not sure if for the calculation of remaining battery life it makes a difference that this is a rechargable one on lower Mah then those non-rechargables of 900Mah...
So adding that to the menu might be useful indeed.
