Feature Request/Suggestion: Changeable Timezone

Just a quick suggestion for future Firmwares: How about adding an Option "Set Timezone" on the "Menu/Settings/Set Time & Date" Page?

The "Set Timezone" Page could just contain something like
"Current: +2"
"UTC +1"
"UTC -1"
"Exit"

This way it would be way more convenient to change the time when traveling.

Maybe it would also be possible for the internal clock to always be in UTC while using the offset to display the actual time. Could make it easier to compare/import international Dives, but i'm not sure if all of the logging tools use relative or actual time only...

Hi,

It's definitely a good idea. The first that came to my mind is the angry face (Just kidding) from Jef (libdivecomputer - the library always everybody uses to download the data to the PC) when he finds out that I have changed the timezone in the logbook data (again!). So, I'll speak to him next week on the "boot" dive show and see what he thinks about this.

regards,
Matthias

I support this feature! It might even be possible to implement this without having to modify the existing data format. We can discuss the technical details at the boot show this weekend.

This thread just came back to my mind somehow...

Since this is not implemented yet, would it be possible?

Thanks for reading.
