I use an X1 as primary and the OSTC as secondary running side by side.

All X1 screens are very legible in particular when large screen size is selected while the OSTC is very poorly legible underwater, and yet they both use OLED displays.

The Menu items and Setpoint and temperature and average depth... are all tiny and too small.

The Menu item when selected should fill the whole screen like the X1 does so that you know which setpoint your are chosing (not just second down the list for example).

All small items on the dive display should be 3 or 4 times bigger.

All large items should be double width (thicker line).

Just run an X1 along an OSTC and you will see what I mean. There is no reason the OSTC OLED screen should not be as legible as the X1.

to be honnest I'm quite happy with the display of the OSTC.
In my opninion some of the dive display of the X1 is better but I don't like flipping messages. I only want the basic info I need. Not arrows or happy faces like on the X1 but just max depth, actual depth, time en decoinfo.

but yes some messages on the OSCT may still be improved. But I don't think it has to be a copy of the X1.

We have absolutely no plans to copy the X1 layout, sorry. We have plans for a "blind mode" with less information and even bigger fonts.

One suggestion is:
to have a clear display with the most necessary info (current depth, deco, po2) and one more detailed view (toggle view) with info as water temp, average depth, (max depth).
The detailed view 'also' show 'current depth, deco....' with smaller fonts.

Don't copy the X1 layout... just make what you have more legible by better use of the available OLED space on the screen (like the X1 does)!

Done a few non-cave normal recreational dives these days, icluding one night dive.

The OSTC is legible in clear light conditions, but during thenight dive the problem was same as in a cave. I presume the problem will be there including past 70 meters in clear waters (as natural light will be low until improving when the bottom is reached... seems always lighter to me at the bottom of a deep dive).

All dive computers would be affected equally by articifial light only situations, but my suggestion is that there is room to improve on th elegibility of the OSTC (bigger characters for smaller info., double font for large info., full Menu screen rather than just top right tiny).
