Wireless charging on the OSTC2

Hi,

I came to charge my OSTC for second time this last weekend.
I am finding the wireless charging incredibly difficult to start..
It's plugged into a USB port. I get a red led followed quickly by blue.
I then spent over an hour moving things around on the pad for charging to start successfully and stay charging. The led changes again and we see it charging on the LCD in yellow. Usually nothing happens. Sometimes it starts for about 2 seconds and stops again.. Once in a blue moon it works properly.
Am I overlooking something?
