Hello,
I trie to charge the batterie by connecting the ostc with USB cable, the batterie symbole turns red but it is like the ostc is not seen by the PC and Batterie is not charging. (Firmware V.3.13). Pilots seems correctly installed.
I have several issues connecting ostc with PC but first time i can not charge.
Thanks for your help

Re: Ostc 2c batterie is not charging
Let me qoute the FAQ text again:
When updating the firmware to 3.05 or newer the battery display has changed. It's no longer based on the voltage but on the ON-Time since the last complete recharge. Battery Icon will blink if the unit was not charged for more then 1800minutes (Check CF74! "CF" means "Custom Function" and can be found in Menu -> Setup -> Custom Functions III. Make sure it's set to "1800", which are 30hours)
Then fully recharge the OSTC using the USB cable. Unplug the cable. The blinking will stop.
Please note that with this firmware version the battery sign will jump to "FULL" only when the battery is recharged completely. While charge is added to it, the battery indicator will not increase during charge. That's intentional and acts as a safety feature to make sure indicated charge is not higher then real charge.
So, when the battery symbol changes color is does charge. But you need to wait a while before it's green and then remove the cable -> Battery sign full. All assuming you have set CF74 to it's default value.
It's called FAQ for a reason, you're not the first one with this issue but the solution is simple and not cause of any kind of defect.
regards,
Matthias

I understand all of your ideas and all of them
(at least the most of them) are brilliant But anyway
this behaviour is confusing, even for an old OSTC-User
like me. Everyone is expecting an increasing battery
indicator while charging...
I don't know if it would be possible to replace the
color fill (i.e. empty battery symbol) with text (when
charging is added), saying "charging" or "full"?
