Blackout/Restart

Hey!

I just had a weekend of diving at Hemmoor, when during our second dive the display of my OSTC3 went black. I did not notice at which depth it occured. After a while, the computer restarted but went black again. This happened three or four times. Back at the surface, the battery indicator showed 70%. The dive has not been recorded. Nevertheless, I changed the battery.
The next day, we went diving again. At about 30m, I noticed that the computer went black again. Nevertheless, with backup we went down to 45m. On our way up, the computer went on again at 40,0m and stayed on for the rest of the dive and also recorded. Temperature has been 5C at 45 but also at 40m.

Any idea what I or my little helper did wrong?

Best regards,
Fabian

Hi Fabian,

For me this seems to be a faulty battery contact or a bad battery. Check the battery compartment for any signs of corrosion and make sure to tighten the battery cap quite strong so the contact to the housing is good. Also check the spring in the cap. Maybe it broke? In case you need any spare parts, please email me using info@heinrichsweikamp.com

Matthias

Thanks for your quick reply!
I checked the battery compartement, there was no corrosion (I bought it just about two months ago). Also the batteries were in good shape. I screwed the cap really tight and I hope it will work. I will be in Hemmoor again next saturday.

Best regards,
Fabian
