OSTC 2 - I can't recharge it
OSTC 2 - I can't recharge it
Model OSTC 2.
New, 12 dives.
Need to be recharging.
In the manual: "just put the dive computer on the delivered charging pad – that´s it."
I've done it.
But it doesn't recharge!
The indicator of battery becomes yellow for 1 second just one time - and nothing more.
Will be be grateful for any help to understand - what is the reason?
Olga

Using the charger rated 5v@2A~
Plus, inductive charger location also important.

I do...
I'm using the native charger - from the set.
What is so important with the location?
Thank you,
Olga

What are the specifications of the used power supply for the charger?
I'd think, this was guessed from tanomogi. The power supply should be rated with 5V voltage and 2A current.
Location is important because of the way the charging works. The current flows in the charger through a coil which causes a magnetic flux. In the OSTC there is another coil in which through the magnetic flux a current is induced. This current is your charging current for the battery. And for battery charging a min current should be exceeded.
To get an ideal current transfer the coils should be directly over another. In thet case of the OSTC the housing is between them which causes losses. So it should be now clear that the location of the charger under the ostc is important.
Note: If there are any mistakes in the explanation, please correct me.

Hello Olga.
the power supply should be sufficient, yes, 5V/2A is good. And the location is important as power is transfered over a very short way. Please have a look at our video about charging

and if you can't get it solved pleased contact us via email.
with kind regards,
Christian

Hello,
To have met this problem is a display issue in the percentage of battery and not charging.
After restarting the OSTC after a charging time, the percentage displayed showed a different percentage of charge before the induction charging.
Hoping that flaw will be corrected on the next firmware

Re: OSTC 2 - I can't recharge it
Hi,
There are no known issues in the firmware regarding the battery meter in OSTC2 and OSTC cR computers. Alignment of the charger needs to be quite accurate (That's why we now have a small indentation in the backplate making the positioning of the charger very clear. Describing the position with images and videos wasn't enough in some cases )
Regards,
Matthias

Hi,
Do you also have such a backplate (with charger indentation) for the ostc4?

Hi Peter,
No, such backplate is only suitable for the OSTC2.
