Charging issue - blinking red light

Hi,

somehow, I have never been able to charge mu unit fully, in one go. Usually it starts charging fine, then at random inteval, it starts blinking red light. It requires disconnecting the charger, reconnecting it and then continuing charging.
While I can charge my unit, it requires monitoring and that's a bit annoying. Would you happen to have any idea what might be going on ? It is not a position of the charger, because this is actually fixed.

Best regards,
gorcio

Hi Gorcio,

That's the overtemperature warning of the charger. No need for you to do anything, charging will resume automatically. We have set the overtemp-warning to 45°C, which is very conservative, to protect the battery in the OSTC4.

Matthias

Hello,

We've changed the Qi charging standard to 1.2 which is way less critical in positioning of the charger. What's your serial number? If it's one of the first units (like first 150 or so) we can modifify the charging circuity here free of charge.

Matthias

how can we do that? Will the fix be to the computer itself?

Hi Gorcio,

We can do the modification within one day - but the computer needs to be at our place for this. Please contact us directly: info@heinrichsweikamp.com

Ok - will get in touch with you ... probably just before going on a longer work trip or when I know for sure I won't need the unit. But I will certainly contact you - thank you for your flexibility and your readiness to support your customers :-). As always - your support should be an example to other producers.

Best regards
