hi
I bought a "OSTC2" last week. Unfortunately I can not use any software on MAC. I connect only with OSTC Companion but OSTC pler does not see the door. I've also tried windows (I have a pc with VISTA) but I can not connect the OSTC tools. HWCongif sees com 8 and connects. OSTC Confing only sees COM 3. What do you recommend me to use?
thank you

Hey,
Unfortunately I can confirm that OSTC Planner does not work. It doesn't find the port despite installing all recommended drivers.
Fortunately OSTC Companion still seems to work so you can update the software on your dive computer.
Sorry I can't be of any help, just confirming what you see there.
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Micheal,
I find it absurd that OSTC does not provide its own updated software to be able to take advantage of all the features and to personalize the device.

Try using Subsurface, an excellent and free dive logbook application. Not only can you download your dives to your computer or smart phone (I believe but cannot confirm), but you can also use Subsurface to configure your OSTC and upgrade its firmware.
Happy diving,
Laurie (OSTC2 #11454)

And very soon, the Subsurface APP for Android and iOS will also allow downloading the dives from the OSTC.

Matthias

Do this apply to the old model Red Buton Sport too?

Subsurface supports all OSTC models (and probably all other dive computers thanks to 'libdivecomputer'). There are ports for Windows, macOS, and many flavours of linux. Check out their website for more details.

I will try Subsurface, thanks Laurie!
For downloading dives and syncing them I currently use DiveLog which works great with the OSTC.
I don't find it absurd that HW doesn't offer support for 3rd party software. It's not their responsibility.

Mschae,
I believe that official software would be needed
