Temperature

Can somebody confirm whether the temperature displayed during a dive is an average or instantaneous reading of water temp? I have noticed a large lag in temperature readings while moving through significant thermoclines.

Due to the construction of the dive computer and the fact that the temperature sensor is inside the casing of the unit there is an inevitable lag in the temperature reading. Without performing an experiment to measure the time it takes to reach equilibrium it is impossible to give a precise value for this time lag. However from casual observations I estimate it could be close to 5 minutes.
