MK2 military version

Post by Stephane »

Hello,

I have bought a Bonex navigation unit that comes with a MK2 computer.
It is in a military version (as seen on the photo) and I would like to know if I can flash a normal firmware in it.
And by the way, what are the differences between the normal version and the military version?

Thank you for the help.

I suspect it's just a standard OSTCmk2 but with a custom firmware on it. I think you'll be able to go from the mil firmware to standard firmware but you may bot be able to go back again.

I have received the MK2 and here are the differences I found:

There is no battery info menu.
There is a Headings menu and you can set 10 headings/time (in degrees and seconds) to navigate. I played with the simulator and there is an option to start the navigation: it shows the heading to follow and a stopwatch.
I emailed Bonex to have more informations but they are on vacation until the 4th of September.
