hallo leute

nachdem ich keinen bug-report finde, versuch ich es einfach mal so:

logbook:

bei einem logbook-offset von "0" zählt mein OSTC plus den letzten/neuersten tauchgang als "1" und nummeriert dann nach unten zum ältesten, bei einem logbook-offsett von "1" zählt er den letzten/neuersten tg als "1", den davor als "0", den davor wieder als "1" und nummeriert wieder absteigend. wenn ich den offsett so einstelle, daß die nummerierung mit meiner nummerierung in subsurface übereinstimmt passt jedoch alles = tg-nummerierung exakt aufsteigend.....

sollte man vielleicht mal drüberschauen

sample-rate:

hm... vielleicht wäre es möglich, die sample-rate etwas angenehmer zu machen. eine sample-rate von "2" ergibt in subsurface ein leicht unruhiges tauchprofil (von der kurve her), eine sample-rate von "10" glättet die profil-kurfe schon sehr stark. noch ein wert dazwischen - vielleicht 5 oder 6 - wäre sicher nett.

after not finding a bug report, I just try it like this:

logbook:

with a logbook offset of "0" my OSTC plus counts the last / newest dive as "1" and then numbers down to the oldest, with a logbook offset of "1" it counts the last / newest tg as "1" , the one in front as "0", the one in front as "1" and numbered in descending order. if I set the offset so that the numbering matches my numbering in subsurface everything fits, however = tg numbering in exactly ascending order .....

maybe you should take a look over there;)

sample-rate:

hm ... maybe it would be possible to make the sample rate a little more pleasant. a sample rate of "2" in subsurface gives a slightly restless dive profile (from the curve), a sample rate of "10" smoothes the profile turns very much. another value in between - maybe 5 or 6 - would be nice.

danke für die Anregungen / Fragen. Bezüglich Samplerate stellt sich natürlich auch die Frage, wie viel Speicherplatz im Logbuch will ich pro Tauchgang verbrauchen. Eine reine optische Glättung der Tiefenkurve könnte man auch im jeweiligen Logbuch-Programm machen - oder sauberer die Tiefe halten beim Tauchen.... ;-))

Ansonsten: uns sind noch eine Menge Dinge eingefallen, nach 3.07 kommt 3.08, aber erst mal noch wird tüchtig getestet...

Hallo,

Es wird (demnächst) eine beta-Version zum Testen geben. Neben einem großen neuen Feature (Cave-Bailout) sind mal wieder sehr viele Kleinigkeiten optimiert worden und vor Allem ist das Einstellungen-Menü jetzt besser strukturiert und auch das interne Logbuch wurde mit mehr Funktionen ausgestattet.

da hast schon recht - nur nicht soooo leicht, wenn der tiefenmesser auf 2 kommastellen genau ist, da siehst du jede armbewegung (z.b. stage-wechsel)

you're right - just not that easy if the depth gauge is accurate to two decimals, because you can see every arm movement (e.g. gas change)

noch was wäre hilfreich....
die 2min, nach denen der tc wieder in den ruhemodus geht, sind manchmal etwas kurz. läuft bei mir oft so ab: anziehen, doppelpack aufnehmen, handschuhe verriegeln, tc einschalten, zum wasser gehen, leiter runter, tc einschalten, ausrüstungs-check im wasser, tc einschalten, weiter mit dem check, abtauchen - und der tc ist wieder aus.....
vielleicht könnte man irgendwo im konfig-menü einen punkt unterbringen, wo die zeit bis zum ruhemodus einstellbar ist - wäre cool ......

the 2 minutes after which the tc goes into sleep mode are sometimes a little short. For me it often works like this: put on, pick up a double pack, lock gloves, turn on the tc, go to the water, go down the ladder, turn on the tc, equipment check in the water, turn on the tc, continue with the check, dive - and the tc is off again .....
maybe you could put a point somewhere in the config menu where the time until sleep mode can be set - would be cool ......

es sind tatsächlich sogar nur 90 Sekunden. Habe mir mal eben den Code angesehen, der Timeout läuft auf Basis eines Sekundenzählers, maximal möglich wären 255 Sekunden oder um eine runde Zahl zu machen 4 Minuten ohne größere Mengen Code neu zu schreiben. Die recht schnelle Ausschalt-Zeit resultiert aus Bemühungen zum Strom-Sparen. Andererseits hat der OSTC dermaßen lange Batterielaufzeiten, dass man hier durchaus verlängern könnte. Feste 4 Minuten?

PS: der OSTC rechnet richtig, auch wenn er sich erst kurz nach dem Abtauchen von selbst einschaltet

hm....
daß er richtig rechnet, merkt man - mir persönlich wäre es egal ob fest oder variabel - programmiertechnisch ist fest sicher einfacher (spart menüpunkt, auswahlliste, variable setzten und abfragen, usw....)
und von der akkulaufzeit hat glaub ich keiner bedenken - mit ausnahme der leute, die einen ostc sport oder plus mit einer 1,5V AA betreiben. vielleicht nur bei battetietyp T2 und T3? ja, ich weiß, machts programmiertechnisch nicht einfacher.....

You can tell that it calculates correctly - personally, it wouldn't matter whether it was fixed or variable - programming technology is definitely easier (saves menu item, selection list, variable setting and querying, etc. ...)
and i don't think about the battery life - with the exception of the people who run an ostc sport or plus with a 1.5V AA. maybe only with battery types T2 and T3? yes, I know, it doesn't make programming easier .....

Ich kann gut mit beiden Optionen leben - 4 Minuten haben auch was. Bloss bitte nicht frei einstellbar machen - es gibt schon genug Endgeräte mit zig unnötigen Configurationseinstellungen. Da möchte ich meinen TC einfach und intuitiv bedienbar haben.

4 Minuten finde ich auch besser. Die 90 Sekunden waren mir auch immer zu kurz. Meistens ist der OSTC immer kurz bevor es los ging wieder ausgegangen.

Ob fix oder einstellbar wäre mir persönlich dabei egal...

I was taught German at school but that was more than 50 years ago and consequently most of what I was taught never stuck and what did stick barely enables me to hold anything but the simplest conversation with a native German speaker. I too am always intrigued by posts in German. To allow me to follow these posts I copy and paste the German text into a web page from https://www.deepl.com/translator. This translator gives a reasonable translation and usually good enough for me to follow the post.

Hi,

following the suggestion on a longer time span before the OSTC switches from surface mode back to sleep mode, i changed the code such that the current 90 seconds remain when the OSTC is run from a 1.5 v disposable battery, and to extend to 4 minutes if run from a 3.6 v source of any kind. Hope that serves the purpose.

Gasbeadarf laufende Kalkulation
Der OSTC müsste doch über den aktuellen Druck und das eingestelle AMV und dem aktuelen Gas
die aktuelle Rest Menge des jeweiligen Gas errechnen können?
Mit den Deko Gasen Funktioniert dies ja sehr gut wenn ich jetzt aber schon 1 stunde auf ~ 30m Unterwegs bin
ist mein Start Gas ja bereits am Ende in der D12 der Rechner Zeigt mir aber 55bar an die ich für den Aufstieg brauche.

Wäre toll wenn er die Restmenge laufend selbst nachrechnen könnte.

The OSTC would have the current pressure and the set AMV and the current gas
to calculate the current remaining amount of the respective gas?
With the deco gases, this works very well if I am already on the road for 1 hour at ~ 30m
my start gas is already at the end *D12 but the calculator shows me 55bar which I need for the ascent.

Would be great if it could recalculate the remaining amount himself.

I would agree with the rock bottom calculation. it would also make sense in the simulator.

Hi,

thanks for your ideas! A kind of "SAC check", i.e. "how much pressure should be in the tank as of now if the configured SAC were correct" is a unique idea worth some thinking about.

Rock-Bottom i think we already have, you just need to set up the OSTC to calculate it:

1) Problem rectification time -> fTTS time
2) Initial ascent to 1st deco stop with 2 divers and elevated SAC rate: set the elevated SAC x 2 as your SAC-Work. The OSTC uses SAC-Work to calculate the fTTS time at current depth plus the Initial ascent until reaching the 1st deco stop. On the 1st deco stop, the OSTC switches over to using SAC-Deco, so:
3) set your SAC deco as usual (1 diver).

That shall give Rock-Bottom!

PS: an ascent rate of 10m/minute is a given, the option of a user-defined ascent rate will be dropped in the next firmware as it turned out to be the cause for the slight instability of the indicated 1st stop depth.
