Good evening

My Sport won't update via HWOS config. The first attempt completely drained a new battery supplied by you guys. The second attempt did not drain battery but still failed.

Furthermore I've consistent battery drain issues with this computer. Any ideas please? Confidence is low at the minute.

Battery did not drain completely during the update, reselect the "T0" Battery from the Reset Menu (See manual Page 44) and you have the old %-Value shown again.
Try the OSTC Companion, Subsurface or maybe the iPhone App OSTConf if the HWOS App does not work for you here. Here's the link on how to update: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14509

I always had some trouble updating my OSTC Plus (Bluetooth), regardless the software I used, but OSTC Companion seems to be the more efficient.

In production, we use a cuple of old smartphones to update entire batches of OSTC before the final pressure test. For single OSTC and once they are paired to the PC/MAC it's faster with the companion.
