1.62 beta

Hallo!
We just released the 1.62 beta!
Main change is a new deco code which now includes all four gas changes into the forecast, a gas list that is sorted and cleaned-up automatically and a much faster Simulator. We made a series of tests with the new deco code already, but do not recommend this for diving. If you use the beta underwater, check and compare with tables or your backup computer!
Request and bug reports are always very welcome, but please note that we can not add features immediately. I think we're already quite fast adding your wishes. If you want bigger or more outputs, please make suggestions what to remove or make smaller instead. Display space is limited
Matthias & Christian

Wonderful improvements, thanks for your job ! I downloaded the beta and will make a first test tonight with 2 gaz.
My first impression is that the gaz selection is somehow buggy. As I change the second gaz, it changes the 4th, when I change the 1st it changes th 5th...

I finally managed to have the 4th gaz air and 5th Nx 82. Will try !

Hi all,
After my first dive with it, I noticed two strange behaviors with this version:
- - an incoherent decostop displayed during a few second at least once while going up to the decostop: as I was at 40m approximately, the computer gave me 1 mn to 39m as decostop. Back to normal (ie 9m 4mn) after a while.
- with previous versions, when diving with a Nx 82 programmed at 9m for the deco, the total time switched from TTS NX included up to 9.5m approximately -> TTS with breathing gaz (Air for instance) from 9.5 and upper -> TTS with Nx after having done the gaz switch. Yesterday, I didn't changed the breathing gaz up to 8m, and no change with the TTS, which was sticked to TTS with NX as programmed. Bug or new feature / behavior expected ?
I can send you the dive or more info if you need any other information.

The new gas list requires some care when editing dives. As you noticed, the dives are sorted according to their change depth. If you have >1 Gas with change depth=0m the "first gas" will be the last of these in the list. Just disable Gas 1-3 if you do not need them. I'm currently doing a few test dives with the new beta. TTS should be adjusted if you miss to change your gas within a few minutes if you are more then 1m above your programmed gas change. I'll verify this again but as far as I can see there's no bug here. The 1min@39 was an intermediate deco routine results you're not expected to see... Will look after that. What GF hi/low did you use?
regards,
Matthias

Hi Matthias, and thanks for your feedback. Editing the gazlist is obviously a pain, and was so simple before... I don't know if it's the soft or me which is buggy, but for the first time with your computer the soft beats me ! I tried right now: G4 was air (0m) and G5 Nx82 (9m), other ones Air (0m) and inactive. Trying to put a NX as G3: it changes G1-G4 to Nx60 ! And sometimes I just can't put a new gaz...
TTS: great! It was not buggy for me, just a different behavior than I was used to. I should have try to go further up than 1m to see if it recalculated correctly, but wasn't. Will try during my next dive.
Finally, find the yesterday's dive enclosed to see if you can get the 39m / 1min. I don't remember exactly when it happen, but around 40m I think. Decomode: ZH-L16 OC (no GF at all, and all important CF default).
Cheers !

Hi Olivier,
Don't worry, if the new gas setup is worse then the old one, we'll include the old one again.

Old version requires more discipline to avoid unrealistic changes.

Matthias

Hello,
is it possible to choose the gas setup? I like the new one.

I think I finally get it... Gaz are now sorted in growing order of their depth change ? (I might be a bit slow understanding, sorry

)
So, let me ask a new question: why not sorting it in *reverse* order, so that during a dive you'll use G1 then G2 then G3 and so on. Right now, if my bottom mix is G1, I'll use G1, then G4, then G3, then G2.

Hello,
Most likely, we'll use the old Gas Setup List again. What we found out during some test diving on the weekend:
- CNS is not restored with simulated dives
- Descending > 15m/min gives a warning, as well
regards,
Matthias

yes it was on 1.61
but not a problem

In simulation, using ZL-16 CC, the PO2 increases with depth instead of staying at the Set point.
I don't know if this would happen in dive mode, as I've not taken mine deep enough to see this.

Hello,
If the ppO2 of the diluent gas is higher then your Setpoint, the SetPoint will be adjusted to physically possible values.

Matthias

Hi,
I thought it might be intentional... But no harm in asking...

Hi Matthias,
Made some dive more with 1.62, seems to work flawlessly excepted what we already noticed. Find enclosed a screen capture of one of my last dive. You'll notice how the deco graph suddenly gives a deep (and incoherent) stop, as I told you before, and goes back to normal after a while. Didn't noticed it during the dive that time, so I can't tell you if it appeared on the screen or not.
Regards

Hello,
Once in a while I am getting similar problem
(I believe I reported it before) with GF algo.
For example, you get to 25m, then slowly go up.
At some stage you are getting some deco, which
clears after a minute to give you 160 (or similar
large value) NDL. I will try to dig out appropriate
data.

w
