I am very smart & capable guy, and I managed to scratch "4mm highly scratch-resistant borosilicate Glass display"

Its not only a matter of aesthetic, but also bad visibility. Is there any way to replace it, or at least partially repair scratches?

I also scratched ligthly my MKII even thought i take care a lot of my preferred dive equipment....

Do You foresee any potential problem with using screen protectors like Invisible Shield ?

I have the Invisible Shield stuff (otherwise known as "Helicopter Tape" ) on my OSTC and D6, the D6 one has been replaced several times and there has never been an issue in removing the residue left from the old film, so i cant see that there will be any difference between the D6 and the OSTC as they both use a glass screen.

How often do You have to change the tape ? I suppose it does not stick well when You get it wet often ...

Ich nutze die Screen Protector Folie eines Smartphones (HTC Artemis). Diese Folie hält absolut fest, ist praktisch unsichtbar und muss wirklich erst ausgetauscht werden wenn sie zerkratzt ist. Allerdings bleibt ein kleiner freier Rand rund ums Display.

@ Mathias, könnt ihr nicht solche Folie (díe mit dem HTC TD5 gelieferte ist noch wesentlich dicker) als Meterware einkaufen und als Zubehör anbieten?
Mit einem Papierschneider Minutensache, aber für einen allein lohnt es sich nicht?

No, but now is to late for existing scratches
i was trying to minimaze white scratches with alchohol black marker and cover it with folie. its better, but not perfect.

Modified Iphone screenprotector works fine, and easy to purchase.

What´s the OSTC MK II glass screen size in inches and centimeters? Yes, the display is 2.4" but what about the protector glass?

I was thinking that since ZAGG has many InvisibleSHIELDs for camera, gameboy, pda ect. displays (2.4"-3.0" ) they might fit just perfectly. My unit is somewhere on its way so i can't measure it myself.

How about delivering the OSTC equipped with some protective "film"..On my Mk1 the screen is scratched, too.

We're considering that, of course. But before we buy 1k custom cut protective film for the OSTC we need to make tests with different brands. It's not being the prettiest solution but "Helicopter Tape" is cheap and works well.

Mir ist die Folie "Vikuiti Displayschutzfolie CV8" empfohlen worden und der Hersteller sendet mir eine Probe.

"Longli" did send us a sample of the "Vikuiti CV8" protection film -> Thanks a lot! It's quite cheap (~5EUR) and feels promising (Clear and robust).

I'll test it during my next dives. We'll decide if we stock it for the Mk.2 if the tests are fine.

Ich habe mir gerade eine maßgeschneiderte Vikuiti CV8 über schutzfolien24.de bestellt. Ich hoffe, ich habe das Display einigermaßen gut ausgemessen (46x63mm) Angeblich soll die Folie spätestens übermorgen bei mir sein. Wir werden sehen..

For the scratch, would it be possible to use the resins for car glass like in carglass advertising ? Or at least to fill it with a transparent polymer/glue.

Die Folie ist tatsächlich gestern angekommen. Wenn ich sie aber nochmals bestellen müsste, würde ich sie etwas kleiner bestellen und zwar in der Größe 44,5x61,5mm und mit Radius 1,0 an den Ecken.

gibt es für das Kratzerproblem mittlerweile eine Lösung? Hat sich eine bestimmte Schutzfolie durchgesetzt?
Ich habe heute den ostc mk2 das erste Mal länger näher betrachtet und wollte ihn eigentlich am Dienstag nach einem Testtauchgang für mich und meinen Buddy bestellen.
Die Kratzer sind mir aber an einem 1/2 Jahr altem Gerät auch sofort aufgefallen.
Wie sieht das erst nach 5 Jahren intensiver Nutzung aus?
Ansonsten genau, was ich gesucht habe!

Hi, ich hab die Schutzfolie von schutzfolie24.de auch drauf. Macht einen guten Eindruck!

Lieferung dauert nach Bestellung 2-3 Tage.

Ich hab sie gleich in 60 x 43 mm mit 2 mm Eckenradius bestellt. Dadurch lässt sich die Folie einfacher aufbringen und der freie Rand ist nicht wirklich groß.

Auch im "Langzeittest" sehr gut. Ich habe sie jetzt seit ca. 50 Tauchgängen in Süß und Salzwasser drauf. Keine Kratzer und Bombenfest. Sieht aus wie am ersten Tag:)

Yepp, meine Entscheidung steht jetzt schon fest.
