New 1.75 beta for the OSTC Mk.2

Hello all,
A new beta version is now available for the Mk.2:
http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/en/ostc_mk2/firmware/
The 1.75beta is one of the last beta versions before the 1.80 Stable is releases. So, feedback is very welcome.
Please note that we are not going to add more functions into the firmware before the release of the 1.80Stable. Bug fixing and testing is the major priority now.
Major changes: Custom view was debugged and is now customizable with CF50-53, an Altimeter was added in the surfacemode, Icons can be disabled with CF41, a non-resettable average depth was added, automatic adjustment of the SetPoint if pO2[Diluent]>SetPoint can now be disabled (CF39) - this was requested quite often. Additionally, some Bugfixes and cosmetical changes were made, too.
Hallo Zusammen,
Eine neue Beta Version is für den Mk.2 nun verfügbar:
http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/de/ostc_mk2/firmware/
Matthias

I know it's not for diving, so I will take it to Nemo today to make it wet a bit

. First remark, after powering on, TRIMIX tank is shown on startup screen, even though my both TMX mixes from gas list are inactive. The other ones are air (which is active), NX50 and O2, all active. Nitrox does not shown up as "tank icon"
Changed NX50 and O2 to inactive. Now display shows both text "AIR" and Nitrox tank

Indeed. Came back to life. Nice thing - it no longer resets the settings like GFs.
Looking forward to see it underwater

Evening Matthias,
Will the new stable be available for the mk1 as im sure some of the new functions and features would be great for this unit too?

...hopefully!!!!!

Hi Dave,
Yes, there will be 1.8 for the OSTC1 but a lot of the new features only work with the display space of the Mk.2, unfortunately.

Matthias

Bug report for gaslist and tank symbols:
3th gas;21/0;first and only gas: symbol nitrox
5th gas;21/0;first and only gas: symbol nitrox
Decoplan with all stops is awesome !

Display bug:
Switching gas from 21/35 to 50/0 active gas in the divemode is showing 50/05...., last digit is not cleared.

Hello,
Arg... I'm unable to reproduce the bug...
1/ Is the inactive Tx line blue in the gas list ? ie. not your first gas either...
2/ What is the whole gas config ?
Thanks,

Hello OSTC team,
I have a general question to lost gas situation:
coming from 9m stop with 9 min / 6m with O2, I lost my O2. So no Gas switch, I stayed on 50/0. I did a ResetAvr and I recognized that the 9min Decostop took 12 min on the stopwatch. Does it mean the lost gas situation or the missed gas switch is solved by stretching the decostop without haveing an additional load on the deco stop time?
If yes, could it be possible to have a kind of time tolerance where the gas switch should be done, otherwise the deco would be recalculated to get the real deco stops with the actual gas?
Does it make sense? For me it would.... Or maybe there is a setting, but I do not know.

A few of my observations after checking of this version in the simulation mode:
1) Decoplan (in simulator) now shows decostops in ascending order (the first - the shallowest, the last - the deepest), in earlier versions (1.60, 1.70?) was the opposite, for me more naturally, in accordance with decoplans generated by the V-Planner or Decoplanner and my runtimes. Is it possible to return to that arrangement? Maybe a new option in CF: decostops increasing / decreasing?
2) Gaslist (in simulator): No option 'Exit'. After entering this menu I have to choose a gas or wait 30 seconds to automatically close the menu. I think that under water it can be very uncomfortable when I enter this menu by accident. May add to the menu option 'Exit' or even check the current gas any sign?
3) Many thanks for showing GF-values in surfacemode! Maybe change "CF29" to the "Last"? "Last:3m" - it is probably clear?
4) Simulator: Blinking gas to change it to better (nice function!) starts only below the optimal depth to change - for 100% O2 at 5 meter, not at 6 meters when I should change the gas.
Regards
Jacek

Hi all, thanks for your great job ! Very small bug:
- any active gas with a 0m depth selected will appear in blue (not in white) (in the Gaslist or on the main screen). Exception: within the "show decoplan" screen in the simulator.
Feature request: will you find place to indicate the selected depth of the different gas on the main screen ? As a last check before dive it seems to be an important information.
Any plans to implement more functions around the altimeter ?
Regards
Olivier

Morgen,
Also im Gas menu, sind die Active gase nicht mehr in Weiss, nur den First gas ist in weiss.
Könntest du bitte ein par Info geben für CF50 bis 53 ?

Surface mode: when the altimeter function is OFF, we have a blank place between CF values and tissue graph. It is a bug?
It requires one press more to go to the next function.
Set Altimeter: Maybe new fuction to quick (re)set sea ref. to current pressure value? Useful on sea level.

It's more a feature to keep the surfacemode clean.

We'll keep that in mind.

1. yes, tmx lines are blue.
2. after switchinh NX50 and O2 off, the gas setup is following
- (Gas 1) TMX 20/18 inactive
- (Gas 2) NX50 inactive
- (Gas 3) TMX 21/35 inactive
- (Gas 4) O2 inactive
- (Gas 5) AIR, active
3. yesterday dived it in Nemo, following observations
- stopwatch is no longer resettable (I tried hard, but couldn't reset it)
- at 9'@33m (avg 27m) got 9m/1 deco, followed by 6m/2' ??? GF30/80, AIR.

Feature.

Gruss,
Matthias

Menu -> ResetAvr

Leading tissue change, happens with little decompression load from time to time.

Maybe in the 1.81. We have the problem here that if we change it, the other 50% of our users complain...

Right now, you need to re-select the current gas if you want to cancel your gas switch. Since the gas is shown all the time and is visible even with the menu I don't see this as _very uncomfortable_

What do others think? Any suggestion for a 4-letter abbreviation for CF11 and CFC12?

We can change this, but the gas change reminder was intend to be some kind of a warning in case you missed the stop. We strongly recommend wetnotes for multi-gas dives with a list of gas changes.

Matthias

Yes, that's intend.

We'll introduce that feature in one the next betas. Most likely, the both different behaviours can be configured by the user.
