New 1.85 beta available for the Mk.2

Hi,

A quick note that we uploaded the 1.85beta. This was mainly due to the "hanging simulator" bug in the 1.84beta (To avoid more users need to do a hard reset on their unit).
Note: Gas consumption calculation is not working in this release.

Matthias

Another known issue in this release: The average display in the logbook does not work correctly. This will be fixed in one of the next releases, of course.

Further comments are very welcome. The feedback to the beta version is always appreciated. Since 1.80 the code was cleaned-up from scratch and prepared for future developments - especially due to the help of JeanDo and other contributions.

regards,
Matthias

... and decoplan calculation too.
For 42m, 27min, GF20/80 and air I got "No deco". Very interesting result. ;)

Please reset the new custom functions with Reset Menu -> Reset GF, Gas and deco.

With the 1.85beta, your settings and 991mBar ambient pressure I get:
1@18m
2@12m
2@ 9m
4@ 6m
7@ 3m

Cheers,
Matthias

Matthias,

same story as ujacek, CF reset and then only gas setup (Gas1 air @ 66 mtrs.), CF 32 (20%) and CF 33 (80%). Result? NO DECO. Mk2 rebooted and MD2 ash done.

BTW, your deco plan looks strange to me.

Same story... no deco 30 min at 48m on air

Did other tests with same result

Just did a "dry dive" 96m on air. deco seems to be working fine in there.

BTW nice new submenu for the 6th gas

Pressure sensor now matches exactly my home weather station and sydney's bom pressure reading. So the small bug fix worked a treat. Thanks JeanDo

D,

we come to you for diving and olny below 90 mtrs then! (jocking)

What did you change to have the deco working? Is the deco plan you obtained realistic?

Guys,

The computer rebooted itself after a while "building hash something" message appeared.

Simulator results seem to be working now. However not sure about the result

Bottom time 23 min
Max depth 48

GF 30/85

G1 21/0 0m
G2 50/0 21m

15m 1
12m 1
9m 1
6m 2
3m 3

TTS14

Last stop 3m and all other cf's as per the reset.

I normally would get a lot more than that for a similar dive

D,

I don't have the deco software in this PC but you results are definetly wrong.

try to calculate for the first example in the post: 42m, 27min, GF20/80 and air.

That first one was with the "Start dive" menu rather tan the "Calculate Deco"

did it to that depth as didn't want to wait 20min to see a result

OK so just reset all cf's, deco and gases. Then changes the deco algo to oc g/f

and did 20/80 to 42m for 27min

18m 1
12m 1
9m 2
6m 4
3m 6

TTS 19

Does this sound right?

Thanks for suggestion, it works!
But with different result (for 986 mbar) - my deco time is 7 minutes shorter.

Hmm ... this plan is for kamikaze!

According to MV-plan and Deco-Planner those values are not corrected, you can see the results on the previous posts. By heart, a 45 mtrs dive for 19 min BT will take at least 20~25 min deco.

All,

I played around a little bit more and after another CF reset the sim gave the same results as previously posted by dmainou & ujacek. These results seem to be totally wrong. Then I played around with CF 56 & 57 and the deco plan changed, strange but it changed. Following the results.

COMMON PARAMETERS:

Depth: 42 mtr
BT: 27 min.
Decotype: L16-GF OC
CF32: 20%
CF33: 80%
Salinity: 1.00 Kg/l
Atm pressure: 1013 mb (10 mb less than the value reported by the airfield meteo station 500 mtrs away from my place).

TEST1
CF56: 20 lt/m
CF57: 20 lt/m

18mtr 1'
12mtr 2'
9mtr 2'
6mtr 4'
3mtr 7'

TEST2
CF56: 17 lt/m
CF57: 17 lt/m

18mtr 1'
9mtr 1'
6mtr 2'
3mtr 4'

TEST2
CF56: 14 lt/m
CF57: 14 lt/m

18mtr 1'
15mtr 1'
12mtr 2'
9mtr 2'
6mtr 5'
3mtr 9'

All the above profiles are quite different than the similar ones obteined with Deco Planner with differnet SACs (obviously no change).

Definitely a very harsh bug.

I do have the following results in my OSTC control program:
Bühlmann ZH-L16C-1a 2002 with GRADIENT FACTOR decompression:
* GF_low (CF32) = 20 %
* GF_high (CF33) = 80 %
* deco offset (CF16) = 1.0 m
* last stop (CF29) = 3 m
* dive started at Pamb = 1013 mbar
Gas#1 = 21/0 at 0 m
Gas switch delay (CF55) = 0 min
00:00 DESCENT DONE TO 42
27:02 CNS= 11%, Deco:
21 m : 1 ' 29 '
18 m : 2 ' 30 '
15 m : 3 ' 33 '
12 m : 4 ' 36 '
9 m : 7 ' 40 '
6 m : 13 ' 48 '
3 m : 30 ' 61 '
0 m : --- ' 91 '
TTS = 65 '

And I got the Pepe posted resut with the same source 1.84, compiled for OSTC and uploaded on the OSTC Mk.2... :(

I'll track that difference ASAP !

Thanks for all your reports.

JeanDo: ... I'll track that difference ASAP !

Actually, Matthias beat me on that :)
He found that nasty bug (same one that caused hang after simulation on most computers). This is corrected for the next 1.86beta.

Thanks again.

On a "real dive" (tm) yesterday evening there has been correct deco calculations. Is this just an issue with the simulator?

It was an issue with the fast (1min step size) simulation -> http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/read.php?2,4610
