Feature request

Hi HW !
I'm using my Mk2n with an endless pleasure !
Since i'm using my mk2n for lessons to new diver, I'd like to see a small modification to the logbook (if possible). As i do the debrief,I'm used to show the graph of the dive, thats where I wanted a small modification, the graph is "uni color", i'd like to see a different color if the ascent speed is "too fast", the color of the graph should be red, if every thing is within the range, should use the default color.
Thanks for reading
yannick

The color is already changing with gas switches. I've never seen a graph switching colors depending on other parameters (not debating which parameters this would be). For showing additional symbols the inbuild display is way to small. I suggest you use a dive log software of your choice to fit your needs.

+1 with Hexxon
speed too fast (according CF47) could be displayed in red (or CF37:Color# Warnings) on graph
and other colors could be dedicated to gas switches
and if possible, add max ascent speed in logbook
and (why not !) display max ascent speed on the dive screen as PMU, futureTTS ... with a CF to show or not show this value (as CF49 to CF 53)

Hi.
Here is some more questions or feature requests.
How many divelogs can the computer store before it starts to erase the oldest one?
I can't find any total dive history (total dives and hours with the computer, not erasable) like there is on every Suunto computers.
best regards

The number of divelogs depends of :
cf 20, 21, 22 and 24.
If you use CF20 = 2 and CF21=CF22=CF24 = 1, every two seconds the depth is stored in the OSTCs profile memory.
With CF20 = 2, you store only 2 or 3 divelog (divetime about 55mn for each dive).
With CF20 = 10, you store about 12 divelog on ostc.
There is no dive history (total dives, total hours, max depth) like there is on Suunto computers.

With the default settings(1), I was able to store ~ 20 dives of one hour each with the 1.90 firmware (32KB memory).
(1) Sampling = 10 = one depth every 20 seconds. Temperature & Decodata divisors set to 6 = temperature + NDL/Ceiling every minute.
Just for the fun, here is a screen dump from the 1.96 beta in progress:

With ceiling and temperature shown...

That was a nice feature in the new version, but still:
My friend has one MK II as well, he does not log every dive in a book, he do a summarise every three/four month. (me to)
When he was looking at his old Vyper or stinger, it says total dive; 1873 and xxx hours. Then he added this to his logged dive in the book, easy
Can't we add that function as well?, then we don't need to do the bookkeeping after avery dive, and it is fun to know how many dive you have done with the computer.

the screen with my feature :

Atmospheric Pressure will be displayed on the second screen of the logbook
Hexxon : I changed 15 ms (meters by second) with m/mn (meters by minute)

I you display alarms, then you should add all (recorded) alarms:
1=SLOW
2=Deco Stop missed
3=Deep Stop missed
4=ppO2 Low Warning
5=ppO2 High Warning
6=Manual Marker
7=Low Battery
(Actually, I am not sure what Alarm3 means... Should check in the code).

Search for char "AlarmType", 1 and 3 are not used yet.

Hallo,
by google:
my proposal to display "fast rise":
Since the colors are changed with the gases already in place, I propose the "rapid rise" a "marker" to put (point or square next to the dive profile).
This keeps the profile and the gas exchange clearly.
Prima would make the additional information can be switched off.
Personally I think the ad is then overloaded.

In my opinion, it is not necessary to display an accent-speed that was too fast. If you want to include that, please include a cf to switch it off. Like Gucky said, the display is too small to show so much information, especially because the colors switch according to the gasses used, too.
Is the maximum TTS or max. deco-time also shown in the logbook? This is a feature I would really prefer!

Can you please add a zoom function because the screen is too small.

Oh and put a waterproof joystick to scroll the graph easily.
Sorry.

Hi,
I also agree that the logbook view is already quite detailed. We'll not add functions that should belong to a PC-based download software. My personal opinion is to have temperature graph and ceiling as an option. Ascend warnings, marker, GF or CNS profile won't show in the internal logbook.

Matthias

Is it possible to display TTS or max. deco time? As far as I know, my PC-based software (divinglog) doesn't show that either so I always have to remember...
Or is the scale of the profile so exact, that it is possible to estimate the deco-time from the displayed ceiling? This would mean approx 3min/18m,1min/15, 1min/12,3min/9m, 5min/6m and 7min/3m within JeanDo's example!?
