Think this has been asked before, but it looks like the search is not working?

I have set up my gas list and left the first gas and one bailout gas active,
when I bailout I can still select inactive gases?

I assume the inactive flag just determines if you are prompted to switch to this gas or not (the yellow flashing prompt?)

The custom gas (number 6) I have worked out, set the O2 and He and then reselect the gas to switch to it, but what does the 'Active?' do? Takes me to a list of my preset gases, but marks then all as inactive (dark blue) and shows the switch depth and allows me to toggle some of them as active (but not all??)

If someone has time to explain the logic I would appreciate it?

As an aside I would vote for having 'Bailout' as the first option too...

Active gases with a configured change depth are taken into account for deco calculations (in case of CCR in a bailout scenario). The ability to choose inactive gases as well is reasonable and should not be changed IMHO (also discussed several times some time ago).

Bailout first is requested several times but not implemented (yet?). Makes bailing out in a stress situation easier and diving safer and most (all?) CCR divers in here agree that this should be changed.

Thanks for the reply - this is what I expected, but the last option 'Active?' still baffles me?

Can't see how it is supposed to work, takes you to the list of gases and lets you switch some of them on or off, but there appears to be no logic behind this that I can see at the moment!

I have had a Vision Inspiration for around 6 years but family demands have stopped me diving for 18 months, I am off to Malta 28 August with 5 of the blokes (another with an Inspiration) to get going again.

I bought the OSTC to replace my Buddy Nexus, I use TX more for the narcosis than depth but do deeper dives (or will again when I have quite a few dives under my belt!)

Malta will be the OSTC's first dives, I've only had it 3 weeks hence the dumb questions!

die aktiven Gase werden zur Berechnung /Planung des Tauchganges verwendet.
Das wirkt sich im Simulator aus und berechnet die voraussichtliche Aufstiegszeit mit den aktiven Gasen.
Du kannst auch unter Wasser auf die nicht aktivierten Gase wechseln. Dann erfolgt die Berechnung mit dem von Dir gewählten Gas.

the active gases are used for calculation / planning of the dive.
This affects the simulator and calculates the estimated time of ascent with the active gases.
You can also go under water to the non-activated gases. Then the calculation is done with the gas you have selected.
