Hello,

It says in the manual that you can add a line of custom text up to 23 characters but i can't find the instructions on how to do this - Any help appriciated

I have another quick quetion about it tho

I have just got my computer and am trying to set it up - I have downloaded the software needed to make the USB into a com port - but when i link up my OSTC it doesn't automatically open and doesn't show in my computer - any ideas how i continue from here ??

You need to switch on the OSTC.
Which program did u download? The com ports can sometimes be tricky. Let us know what error message you get, if any.

Ich bekomme mit der Suche oft keine Treffer, obwohl ich genau weiß, dass ein Thread schon existiert - weiß nicht, ob das an mangelnder Gewöhnung meinerseits oder eher an einem Programmfehler liegt!? Nur weil hier angesprochen wurde, bitte doch die Suchfunktion zu nutzen...

...ist mir auch schon so gegangen.
Zwei Punkte zur Suche:
1. Nur ein Wort eingeben, sobald man mehr als ein Wort eingibt funktionierts nicht richtig. Auch wenn man Any Words oder All Words auswählt.
2. Die Zeitdauer auf welche die Forumeinträge durchsucht werden sollen.
Standardmässig ist leider 30 Tage eingetragen.

Also gibt man z.B "custom" als Suchwort ein und wählt "All Dates" so findet man alle Einträge zu Custom Text und leider auch mehr aber wenigstens sind so die relevanten Forumeinträge offensichtlicher.

Ich bin einverstanden mit dir tiefunen, da besteht sicher optimierugspotential

How R U going with ur Custom Text?

HI, iv just bought an ostc2n and tring to get it connected to my computer. iv downloaded divelog 5.0 and the interface thing ( i think iv got the correct one) but still cant get it to see my ostc. it charges battery but that is it..

i guess cos the comp wont see the ostc then i cant change the txt at the bottom of vthe screen either.


PLEASE HELP.

You need to turn on the the OSTC to download the settings of the OSTC. And of course the OSTC needs to be turned on when uploading the settings.

I am assuming u have a pc.
You don't need to dowload any comport thingies. However u need to choose the corect com port. What error message do u get?

yea a laptop on windows 7. according to the handbook i need to download an interface and and divelog or jdivelog so iv got divelog and some interface thing from the handbbok info off heinrichsweikamp web site.

There is no fault or message it doesnt even acknowlage its plugged into my laptop.

My computer does not even come up found new hardware etc.

thanks iv read this thread but untill i can connect with ostc the txt thing wont work from what iv read.

No no.
To download dives or settings and then upload them to the 2N you need divinglog or jdivelog.
What u r probably talking about is upgrading the firmware. Thats a completely kettle of fish.

Make sure u installed version 5.0.5 of diving log
1. Plug in the 2N to the computer with the usb cable
2. Start divinglog
3. Turn on the 2N
Then follow the instructions in the link from the previous post

Alright guys and gals,

I've recorded the steps on how to configure the custom text of the OSTC with DivingLog. You can download the file here:

All you need to do is to plug in the OSTC to the computer start DivingLog and start the OSTC and then follow the steps in the documents described.

CORRECTION:
Of course a USB driver has to be installed.

Hi, this is the message it has come up with when connected to ostc 2n




the given port name does not start with com / com or does not resolve to a valid seriel port. parameter name / port name ....

Well the OSTC ist connected with USB and not serial...
gotta think about this one...

...are you following the steps in the documentation I provided in my previous entry?

sorry....The only thing i can see happening is the battery changeing colour so i guess its charging ok but nothing else.

i followed instructions as said before but i dont know what next...
