temperature menu

Hi,
I own one ostc2N since june 2011 ( OSTC 2375 V2.00 french) and I never had problem during all the 30 dives done since I used it. Last week I looked at the batterie menu (it was the first time) and I saw that the Tmax was 84,1 degre the 25 september 2011 (the min one 14,5 °). The day indicated was a day I dived but the weather was very bad ( ;-))) )and I don't understand how it can reach such a temperature. The ostc2n has no problem all seems to be good but I want to know if it could be a problem later.
Thanks Jean-Michel

Hi Jean-Michel,

84,1°C max. temp is not normal and most likely a false reading or non-initialized value. Unfortunately we can only reset this at our place, so a) you live with this value or b) get in contact with us for a reset: info@heinrichsweikamp.com

Sorry for the trouble...

regards,
Matthias

Having the same issue here:
Tmin: -63.3C (30.6.11)
Tmax: 95.0C (10.7.11)

I did not do any dives on 30.6.11 most likely, but one at 10.7.11.

Jan

Hi same issue for me with the temperature.

see you

I just recognized a high temperature shown by my unit - several degrees more than ambient temperature, falling slowly. Some minutes ago I did a longer dive simulation using JDiveLog to 120m+ which run quite a long time (bug in JDiveLog not being able to end a dive simulation on the OSTC). I'm off now but maybe someone can try to reproduce this!? Please also have a look to the temperature while in dive mode...

Just an idea,
Jan

Doing another simulation running firmware 2.07 the temperature is raising constantly about 1 degree ever 4 minutes.

Could this be a reason for very high temperatures? Maybe the unit has been under very heavy load for some time?

Is there a treshold defined in the source code to shut down the unit at specific temperatures to avoid damage to the unit?

Might also be an issue with updating the firmware and some processes running afterwards as the temperature is still raising after the simulation is finished (about 10 degrees more than ambient as of now). At this moment I see the "Building MD2 Hash" message. Is it recommended to wait some time before diving after upgrading the firmware?

Normal, this is waste heat from the charging circuity which is quite close to the sensor in the Mk.2 (Changed in the 2N).

Of course not.

What is the status with this issue? Seems the current firmware changed something.

Currently the max. temp shown by my unit is 5.8 degrees with a date from the end of January. This is wrong. The min temperature shows -60something, also wrong.

Mine is still right with FW 2.21: 3.2° a few days ago and 38.7° last summer which should also be ok.

Firmware 2.21. Battery Information zeigte:

Tmin:-69,5° — 09.11.11 Temperatur ist falsch.
Tmax: 30,7° — 15.07.11 in Ordnung.

Salut Felini,

TemperatureExtremaMinimum : 65479
TemperatureExtremaMinimumDate : 11.02.2012
TemperatureExtremaMaximum : 858
TemperatureExtremaMaximumDate : 25.09.2011
Temp. extr Min. : ( 55) C7 FF 65479
Temp. extrema Max : ( 60) 5A 03 858

@Heinrichsweikamp

Rob

Hi there,

i've set the wrong temperature to a more realistic vlaue.

@Heinrichsweikamp
What can happen after the reset of this Value?

best regards
Rob

Robert,

Wie hast du den Wert zurückgesetzt?
How did you reset the value?

Hallo Hansjoerg,

i did it with a modified version of my program.

Rob

Hi tiefunten,

do you still have the old, correct, value?
Or maybe you've saved a settings file using the OSTC Tools (OSTCConfig oder OSTC Dump) before your hollidays, there you can find the old value.

Tomorrow evening (hopefully) i enable the option for setting the "unsetable" values.

Regards
rob

Hi Robert,

Wo kommt man denn an deine Programme?

http://www.angermayr.net/download/ostctools.htm

Grüße
Rob

Hi there,

done, i've created an Website where you can download the latest version of the OSTC Tools, Beta4.
With this Version you can correct the wrong temperature values.

But first save your Settings and Data! I've tested the Software, but its still Beta!

Your can find the software here.
The OSTCTools are in English but the Website is in German ... sorry for that.
