impossible to reboot my OSTC 2N firmware 2.01:(

Hello,

I received my OSTC 2 weeks ago and it works fine except the fact that it is impossible to reboot it even with a magnet, so I'm not able to upgrade the new firmware.

Does anybody had the same issue, is this a known problem?

Hi,

The magnet trick only works when you connect the USB cable.
You have a menu entry to reboot the OSTC and with the latest bootloader version 2.0, you don't even have to reboot it.

the reboot function seems not to work at all and booloader is not able to find the computer.
This is strange because I'm able to set all the params in JDiveLog so the usb RX/TX driver is working.

What is strange also is when I press "reboot" it just come back to the standbye screen within 1 second

You need to have your 2N plugged in with the USB cable and then place the magnet at the center screw at the back of the 2N. Did you try to reboot the DC that way?

If I remember correctly you have to confirm again before it reboots itself. Did you do that?

Hi,

please try our bootloader v2 for the update, this will also re-install the normal bootloader in case that there is a problem. It will only run under windows but maybe you have a Win XP or Win7 system available?

Do I get tis right: You are a new OSTC user trying to flash it using a magnet? Why? Who told you doing so? There has never (at least not in the last 2 years) been the need to use a magnet for this. Unbelievable.

This is a serious question as I hear this not for the first time, so we should make sure the source of this is deleted. So please try to answer.
