New firmware 2.21 stable available for the Mk.2/2N

Hello,

Today, we released the 2.21 stable for the Mk.2/2N!

Updating is very easy if you have 1.90 or later (e.g. all 2N users!) and using Windows.
1. Get new bootloader v2: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/en/ostc_2n/
2. Follow the step-by-step instructions: http://www.heinrichsweikamp.com/en/ostc ... _firmware/

New since 2.20:
- pSCR Support. ppO2 for passive scr can be displayed. The counterlung ratio and the O2-Drop must be configured in CF62 and CF63
- Bugfix: Decolist showed a gas change stop where no gas change was configured to

New since 2.01:
- a lot of small bugfixes and improvements
- quicker screen refresh and calculations (e.g. in the Deco Planer)
- new features like the Cave divers consumption display and alarm (CF59)

Important: This update does not reset your CF values. When updating from 2.01 you'll need to reset CF56,57,59 and CF60 manually. The OSTC will display a permanent warning for all CF that should be checked by the user (Until they are checked). For those not messing around with the CF settings: Menu -> Reset Menu -> Reset all will reset all CF to the default values.

Hallo,

Matthias

Hi all,

Just did the FW update. It really is a breeze if you RTFM.

What's about a "Bootloader" for Mac-Users? I'm doing updates now using JDiveLog and it works so far... But i don't know how fast they are if the firmware of OSTC changes in a way, that it doesn't work with JDiveLog anymore... So it would be nice to have an independent way to update the OSTC on a Mac...

Added: Did the new firmware update very smooth with JDiveLog on my Mac. Everthings seems to work quite well.

Awesome. Looking forward to test it.

And as scubatinoo said, a bootloader for Mac would be great. It's so simple to update the OSTC with windows' bootloader that I want it for my Mac too.

Why a bootloader for Mac ?
It's really simple to upgrade firmware with Jdivelog

Thx a lot for not resetting date and time this time!

Does this mean we are running out auf CF now? CF63 is the last one in the CFII Set, isn't it?

Thx,
Jan

Mine kept time and date. But maybe this has something to do because i'm updating with JDiveLog?

I'm confused about the logbook... Divenumbers in the detail page of a dive are now the same as the number in the logbook overview... Last time i used to look into the OSTC Logbook it was IMHO the opposite: Latest dive in logbook overview had number 1 but the dive number on the detail page was the actual number of dives done with OSTC (without setting any CF)... Is it true?

And something else: Changing to the second page of the logbook overview has quite a delay... like it was before the last firmware update... Switching back to the first page works fast!

My logbook numbers are as usual, wrong (ordered from 01...XX) in the Overview and correct in the Detailview.

There might be a (new) bug in the logbook displaying the graph, but I consider this a more general topic as I set a very low sampling rate. Discussion is in the "Amount of logbook entries" thread:

My date and time is for sure still correct, I did the update using JDiveLog (as usual).

I don't care about the numbers in the Overview, as longs as the
latest dive is on top... Did you set a logbook offset in CF,
because I did not.

My graph looks like before, so no problem there on my OSTC so far.

So the time is only resetted when updating with the bootloader and does not happen when using Jdivelog....

@Solodiver: Interesting profile ;-) Why are you jumping from one extreme CF to the opposite extreme? 3s sampling rate vs. 120s sampling rate is a rather big step from my point of view.

I did some simulation dives with the new stable and none of the reported bugs from 2.2 were visible!

I can confirm that the time was reset when updating with Bootloader. Though I never got any warnings in relation to CF56,57,59 and CF60. I reset the CF's anyway.

Profiles are showing normal but haven't had the opportunity to dive since the upgrade.

@PeterK
RTFM is obvious. What about: PEBKAC

@Hansjoerg:

According to the initial posting by HW warnings re CF56,57,59 and CF60 are only shown when updating from FW 2.01 or earlier.

What does "PEBKAC" mean?

@PeterK
That explains it. I must have been on 2.01

@Bardass
You got it.
You have to be one to recognize one

Whatever that is.

Unfortunately the ice is gone now. Nevertheless we went diving today. Nice and easy dive, the OSTC is running on FW 2.21. No issues whatsover. I'm happy.

Hallo Hansjoerg,
