When trying to transfer my dives into Macdive this weekend, I am getting error code -5 (unable to read dive computer memory)
What does this error mean as its been fine up to this weekend?
I have also submitted this to Nick at Macdive as well.
Is there also a larger list of error codes available somewhere?

Error code -5 is a timeout in macdive.

Note that this has nothing to do with the ostc device itself. The error code is reported by the libdivecomputer library that is used by macdive.
