Maximum ascent speed in logbook

is it possible to add Maximum speed ascent into the header of the log ?

The max. speed is most likely a peak when lifting your arm and is of little significance?

the computer can be a wonderful teaching tool.
When an instructor teaches assisted recovery procedures, he can show to the diver the curve and maximum ascentional speed reached with the log book

Maximal ascentional speed = Max (positive ascentional speed)

I agree with you that the OSTC is a wonderful teaching tool especially when you are wedged by a never seen judo hold it is good to have a readable screen in your eye corner !!

I'm also interrested by the ascentional speed for educationnal purposes but I find more interresting to get it under a graph form along with the depth graph. Then no need to store it in the logbook, it is just a derivation of the depth graph. DivingLog already offer this possibility (example attached) and with the current OSTC logbook but it would be nice to get it in OSTC Tools (are you here Rob ?? B)-).
With horizontal lines based on CF05/CF47, it would be even better !!

* calculation in the Divinglog software is not very accurate. I don't know wich formula is used. I suggest you do the calculation using the log data from OSTC and compare it with the Divinglog

Yes i'm here i felt something itches me, so i've clicked on this thread.

I thougt about this today when i had implemented the decoplan and the last decostop attribute.

I think this option is only useful when you can select a area and determine the mediate or maximum ascent speed.

I believe that it is just a derivation by the time (dm/dt) in this case with dt=1min. I you want less steps you can change dt....
