Re: VPM B or B/E for OSTC
Dear Bardass,
that's a good question. I was suggested to use 15/90 when I bought the N2. Just about every one I found with the same computer, making my tipe of dives, has the same setup.
I should have probably done some simulations with different GF and compare them to the v-planner algorithm ...

Re: VPM B or B/E for OSTC
Dear dmainou,
thanxs for the quick answer. I tend to agree that it's becoming a run to extra safety as diving is more and more popular and the algorithms must cover every possible exta sensitivity of any possible subjet.
If I recall what we were doing some decades ago, on air, I must believe that ...

Re: VPM B or B/E for OSTC
I have set GF 15/90. On a 70 mt, 20 min run time dive with a partner with V-Planner tables (same gasses) I came out 7/8 before him!!
Also he made a number of DS that my N2 didn't ask for. I had no problems... yet it makes me nervous. What if the run time would have been longer or the dive deeper ...

Everything is ok, yet in sunlight the dark blu of the gas list is invisible.

Re: New firmware 2.0 stable is now available
Thank you Fabrizio, you are right! The defoult value sounds just like a simple calculation on PO basisis. The depth change MUST BE SET by the user to make the gas active. Not a bad idea. would have been nice to know it! Congratulations, you cleared the mistery.
All the best,
Paolo

Re: New firmware 2.0 stable is now available
Thanks again, I did indeed reset just about everything: the device itself, the gas and deco menu, decodata and logbook. No way, nothing changes. I getting sure is a bug. My device is N2, may be it works on some other model.

Thank you Longli, but I had already set three gas active (more / active gas -yes) and two inactive. The only one colored in white is th first gas. I must have tryied 20 times.I think is the new firmware that doesn't do it.
Thanx for your attention anyway,
Paolo

Re: New firmware 2.0 stable is now available
I finally could connect the N2 to my computer with the bootloader, not with diving log 5.
After loading the firmware 2.0 active gas are blu like the inactive. The only white one is the first gas. I downloaded it twice and reset the N2. Still the same problem. Can it be fixed? It's quite helpful to ...

Re: New firmware 2.0 stable is now available
Hi, I made several attemps to connect my N2 to my computer and it comes a message where it says that is an unknown device and cannot comunicate. I have windows 7 and it's supposed to have some driver that should work. Do you have a driver tat can fix the problem?
Thank you

Re: Sofware iprovements
Hi PeterK, I totally agree with you. In fact I think that this reminders the computer does, are more dangerous for inesperienced divers than for those who have thousands o dives. It's a matter of fact that I only recently purchased the N2 and, during the dives, I was watching it to se if would have ...

Re: Sofware iprovements
Hi Beluga,
I thnk is a great idea! the warning message it's all you need may be only 5 seconds repeted a cople of times. Colors you show are fine, but it would be the last concern if they would be adjustable.
I would still like to see a different color from blu in the gas setup menu. On day light ...

Re: Sofware iprovements
Hi Matthias,
I understand. It actually makes a lot of sense having to pay more attention to gas changes.
It is important to pay attention to every single action. I know that the N2 gives already a warning, yet some stronger signal -utilizing that excellent Oled screen- for having passed the gas ...

Re: Sofware iprovements
Im sorry Gucky, I don't understand German.
Dear PeterK, you are right, a faster procedure for changing gas could be appreciated for deep dives where you use easily four gasses and you are in a hurry to get to the bottom. I do mostly wrecks in Liguria and the depts are anywere from 50 to 100 meters ...

Re: Sofware iprovements
Thanks everybody for the answers. Colors can be changed in many functions but on the Gas Setup menu. This function is used out of the water where, normally you have lots of light and the dark blu is hardly visible.

I purchased a N2 from 232bar. I am quite happy with both, the computer and the service I received. Alberto is a competent, kind man and he helped me out to get quickly familiar with the computer.
