Updating OSTC 4 - HowTo

The OSTC 4 is updated with the OSTC Companion software:



Download the latest version here:

To upgrade, download and unzip the latest firmware for your OSTC 4 device:

Firmware

- Pair your OSTC to your PC/MAC.

- Setup Communication port in the companion (Small gear icon next to computer list). In Windows 10, go to "Bluetooth Options" in the Windows Bluetooth System Settings and check or create the COM port.

- Click on "Upgrade Firmware..." (Without prior "Connect"), browse to the unzipped firmware BIN file and click on OK.

Wait about 1min - Done. Depending on which version was installed previously on the OSTC 4, it's normal that the update must be started up to three times. The firmware consists of three parts (Firmware, Fonts and RTE). Not every update requires all parts to be uploaded.

Zum aktualisieren, müssen Sie zudem die aktuelle Firmware für Ihren OSTC 4 Gerät herunterladen und entpacken:

Firmware

- Paaren Sie den OSTC mit dem PC/Mac

- Stellen Sie den Kommunikationsport im Companion ein (Kleines Zahnrad-Icon). Diesen können Sie bei Windows 10 unter "Weitere Blutooth-Optionen" in den Bluetooth-Systemeinstellungen nachschauen oder anlegen.

- Klicken Sie auf "Upgrade Firmware..." (Ohne vorheriges "Verbinden"), wählen Sie die entpackte BIN-Datei aus (Mit "Browse" ) und klicken Sie auf "Öffnen".

ca. 1min warten - Fertig. Etwa 1 Minute warten - Fertig. Je nachdem, welche Version zuvor auf dem OSTC 4 installiert war, ist es normal, dass das Update bis zu dreimal gestartet werden muss. Die Firmware besteht aus drei Teilen (Firmware, Fonts und RTE). Nicht bei jedem Update müssen alle Teile hochgeladen werden.

HWOSConfig for Android! Another very simple Method on updating the OSTC 4 with an Android device.

What is implemented:
-Personalizing (setting of Customtext)
-Firmware update

Permissions:
the App needs
-Read/write access on the device
-Bluetooth access
-access to the internet.

There are no ads, and no data where collected.

Step by step instructions:


Install the App from Google

-Accept permissions (only once after installation

Select your OSTCType (OSTC 4) and click on download to get the latest firmware.
When you wipe to the right, you can see the history of changes file, provided with the firmware.

-Switch Bluetooth on your OSTC on.
-Go to Android settings, search and connect your OSTC.

-In the App select your OSTC from the combobox (make shure Bluetooth is on)
-click "CONNECT"

The type of the OSTC will be automatically detected and set in the combobox.

-check the type of the OSTC in the combobox, if neccessary change it.

-make shure you have a firmware version selected.
-click on "UPLOAD"
-be patient

Custom Text:
-Switch Bluetooth on your OSTC on.
-Select your OSTC in the App
-Click on "CONNECT"
-Click on "CUSTOM TEXT"
-Set the text
-Click "OK"
-Click "DISCONNECT"

HWOSConfig für Android! Eine besonders einfache Methode, um den OSTC 4 zu aktualisieren!

Was ist implementiert:

-Lese/Schreib Zugriff auf dem Smartphone (zum ablegen der Firmware)
-Bluetooth Zugriff (Verbindung mit OSTC)

Schritt für Schritt Anleitung:


Installation der App von Google

-Permissions erlauben (nur einmal nach erstem Start)

-Einstellen des OSTC Typs (OSTC 4) und klick auf "DOWNLOAD" um die aktuelle Firmware zu laden. it einem Wisch nach rechts wird die History, die mit der Firmware kommt angezeigt.

-Auf dem OSTC Bluetooth einschalten
-In den Android Bluetooth Einstellugnen, nach dem OSTC suchen und verbinden.
(muss nur einmal gemacht werden)

-In HWOSConfig den OSTC in der Auswahlbox (Bluetooth) auswählen.
-Vergewissern das Bluetooth am OSTC noch an ist.
-Klick "CONNECT"

Der OSTC Typ wird automatisch ermittelt und die Auswahlbox "OSTC Typ" entsprechend eingestellt.

-überprüfe den Typ in der Auswahlbox, falls nötig ändern.

-überprüfe ob eine Firmware ausgewählt ist
-klicke "UPLOAD"
-abwarten und Tee trinken

Personalisieren/Custom Text:
-Bluetooth am OSTC einschalten.
-OSTC in the App auswählen
-Klick auf CONNECT
-Klick auf "CUSTOM TEXT"
-Text einstellen
-Klick "OK"
-Klick "DISCONNECT"
