CF13 No Fly Time

Post by xymanuel »

Hi there,
a question about CF13 No Fly time.
2 hours after my last dive i saw that my desat time was approx 3:30h.
The displayed NoFly Time was approx 1:50h.

Do i have a wrong understatement of the noFlytime?

I would suggest it must always be higher than the desat time? (CF13 is set to default 60%. I expected that my no fly time is 3:30h desat time plus the 1:50h noflytime)

(I personally use the 24h rule for the noflytime, dont need my ostc to tell me)

Regards Manuel

Hi Manuel,

there's nothing wrong with that.
The Desat time is the time when there's no significant gasload left in your body tissues after a dive.
The No Fly time is less than the Desat time as it is safe to fly with some residual gasload.
Adding the Desat time and the No Fly time to a sum is not correct as the No fly time is already included in the Desat time.
The default value for the No Fly time is 60% of the Desat time when surfacing.
This 60% ratio can shift lateron as the Desat time is updated acc. ambient pressure but the No Fly time is just a count down.
