CCR simulation - PPO2 shows bailout value

In preparation for a MOD1 CCR course next week, I'm running through the changes on the OSTC using the simulation function. I have it set to display the ppO2 value.

Currently, i'm at 31m, with a setpoint of 1.3, and it's showing a ppO2 of 2.05 - which is correct for my 50% bailout gas (i've been playing with different options) - a little more than the 1.3 setpoint.

If it is a question have a look at CF 39 ( po2 correction ).

Wait till your mod 1, all will become clear. However your bailout should be suitable to get on safely at any depth.

Looks like i need to understand what happens to the CCR diluent gas when changing to bailout - which i'd assume would stay the same.

Reiner, will check about how the bailout and the setpoint is used.

Darren, i had a number of gas' 21, 50 & 80. After ascending to 20m and bailing out to 50%, i then went back to CCR and descended - assuming the same air dil was used. At 30m i noticed the high PPO2.

Hi Steve,

now it is clear.
When you switch back to CCR from bailout the last used bailout gas is your new diluent. That is the only way to switch diluent presently.
So if you switched to NX50 as bailout gas, switched back to CCR, descended to 31 meters and CF39 is activated your PO2 will be >2 because of the PO2 correction (CF39).
