Hi all,
I've searched for any mention of this over the last year but didn't find anything so posting my question here.
The scenario (simplified in order to focus on the question):
--------------
I'm doing a 70m dive. I have two cylinders with me, one is my bailout gas that I can go onto at max depth if needed (16/50 for eg). The other is an 80% nitrox bottle for deco at 10m and above. Both of these gases are in the OSTC gas list and marked as 'active'
My question:
--------------
If I have to bailout at max depth and then ascend on the bailout gas does the OSTC flash the 'better gas' notification on the front screen in the same way that it does on open circuit? In other words when I get to 10m will I be prompted to change gas?
I have tried this on the simulator and it doesn't seem to behave in the same way that it does on open circuit.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Flashing 'Better Gas' in bailout mode?
It does (Bailout is the same as OC). You need to be .1 - 3.0m above your planned gas change (It won't advide the gas change at 10.0m or above 7m).

OK that's great! I figured it would I guess I must have exceeded the .1-3m limit when using the simulator. I'll have another bash this evening.
Thanks for replying.
