Simulator results depend from the gas order

Post by viz_cw71363 »

OSTC 6243
Firmware 2.5
Using the simulator to plan some dives I've noticed that if the first gas is the first of gas list, the planning it's ok, if in the gas list I put first deco gases and after the first gas, the simulator doesn't consider deco gases but only the first gas.
Is it a bug ?

You could call it a feature B)-

Can you post the entire gas list, please? Including the change depths.

Gas List:

G1 AIR 21 at 0
G2 NX 47 at 21
G3 NX 98 at 6
G4 AIR 21 at 1
G5 AIR 21 at 0

G5 is obviously inactive because change is set to 0
If G1 is the first gas, the simulator consider G1,G2 and G3 to calculate deco plan.
if G4 is the firstgas and G1 became inactive, the simulator calculate the dive without deco gases.
G2 and G3 configuration doesn't change .

I hope it can be useful.

Why do you set G4 at 1 meter ?

To activate the gas.
I Know it is not necessary because the AIR is active as first gas; the result is that i've two air active.

If G4 is the first gaz, you don´t need to set to 1

I know it; in this way are active togheter AIR(G1) as first gas and AIR (G4).
I know that this configuration has no utility, but it is the residual of a previous configuration which produces no damage

Hi,

Using your gases (And ~980mbar surface pressure, GF30/90 OC) I get for 19min@39m:

15m 1'
12m 1'
9m 1'
6m 2'
3m 2'

No matter if G1 is active (and G4 inactive) or G4 is active (and G1 inactive).

Your first gas must be at depth=0m, that's part of the definition for a "first gas".

Hope this helps,
Matthias

Thanks Matthias,
your explanation resolves fully the question.
i didn't know that first gas requires the depth set to 0.
As usual HW support is rapid, precise and clear.

Best regards

G1: is the bottom gas I use (AIR or TRIMIX, in the last dive it was AIR)
G4 and G5 are a residual of old configuration (usually i don't use them ) , once I've used G4 as first gas leaving G1 Trimix inactive (here I've noticed the unexpected behaviour which caused this post).
G2: is the first deco gas (I asked for EAN 50 but the result was ean 47....it wasn't too far from ean50 and I've mantained the gas switch to 21 m)
G3 : is the second deco gas I use Ean 100, It is set to ean 98 from a previous test i did (I've maintained ean 98 instead to update to 100).
I know that the configuration can seem strange, but it is only a standard dive with AIR,EAN50, EAN100 .

Cheers
