Alternate GFs

Post by aerobrain »

Hi

I'm having trouble with alternate gradient factors. I remember when I installed the first Beta software that had them whenever I went into simulator scrolling through the bottom left hand screen options would bring them up and then going into the menu gave me the option to toggle to them.

However since I updated to 2.70 (and just now 2.73) they don't come up when I scroll through the screen options and the toggle GF option is often blank in the menu screen so I can't toggle to them.

CF66: ON
CF67: 90%
CF68: 95%
CF69: ON

I did also try it on my last actual dive in case it was a simulator issue but it was exactly the same.

I have notice that as I scroll through the screen options two of them are just blank so maybe it's a colours issue but I've not changed any colours and I'm not aware of any that are specific to GF display.

Any ideas?!

Thanks

Hi Lee,

The "ToggleGF" menu entry is only accessible when the GF Values are displayed in the lower-right corner. I just tested this with the 2.73beta:

CF66 has nothing to do with the aGF function.

Hi Matthias

That makes sense. Unfortunately I can't get the aGF's to display in the bottom right hand corner. Like I say there does appear to be two pages when scrolling through that are blank which to me would suggest they're displaying but the colours are for some reason set to black.

I can get things like Future TTS, Dive Time, Avg Depth etc to display so it just seems strange that the page for aGF's won't display anything.

Are there any files or screen shots it's worth me sending you to take a look at? It's a very minor issue but it would be nice to get it working.

Thanks

Hi,

Which language did you install? If it's on my OSTC 2 with 2.70 it must be shown on yours (Some hardware, same software).

kaheksa, while in divemode press right button several times to change custom view in the lower right corner of the display. Press until GF Values are shown. Then press left button for menu, right botton for enter and you'll see the screen like posted from HW...

And of course, turn CF69 ON!

I still can't get the GF's to display in my custom view. As previously mentioned there are two blank screens as I scroll through. One of them is definitely where the GF's should be as it's only when I'm on that blank screen that I can get the Toggle GF option in the menu.

So far I've tried the old 2.61, 2.70 and 2.73 but they are all the same. Like I say I can actually toggle the GF's but I just can't get the custom view to display them.

aerobrain, what is set as Deco Mode on your OSTC? Make sure it is "L-16 GF OC" for example...

Yes that's the mode I use. Like I say the alternate Gradient Factors are set up and it allows me to switch to them. It's just that when I scroll to them in the custom view it is blank. I know I'm on the right view as it's the only one that allows me to toggle them in the menu.

It's not a massive issue in itself but I don't like having these little niggles as it makes you worried what else could be going wrong unnoticed.

Can you post a picture of the menu (In simulator mode) with the "Toggle GF" option visible?

Not sure if I've done it right but the screen dump should be attached. Not sure how to post a picture on here.

Hope it helps

What's your CF35 setting?

I just replicated this by changing the Deco Mode from "L-16 GF OC" to "ZH-L-16 OC". What you described happens was then the same on my computer. You need to double check that you have "L16-GF OC" showing top left of the main screen. If not, you then need to change via Menu > Setup > Decotype.

Part of me hopes you're right as then it'll be resolved but if it is right then it's a pretty dumb/risky error on my part!!!

I'll check it when I get home and if it isn't the issue then I'll also check the CF35 setting.

Thanks

That would make sense since the GF function is only available in GF deco modes, of course.

No worries - better then we have to solve non-existent bugs in the code :-)
