Seit Kurzem bin ich stolzer Besitzer eines OSTC3 # 2257 und habe auch schon einen ersten ordentlichen Tauchgang damit absolviert.
Leider gelingt es mir nicht, das Logbuch auf meinen PC zu übertragen
Folgende Randbedingungen:
- Subsurface 4.0.2.0 bzw. Divinglog 5.0.12
- libdivecomputer-0.dll 0.4.2.0
- Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 Bit
- OSTC3 Firmware v1.21
Nach ca. 2 % bricht der Download ab.
Aber mit OSTC Companion 0.21.1 kann ich einwandfrei auf den OSTC zugreifen.
If you send me a libdivecomputer debug log, I can have a look at what goes wrong. Subsurface and Diving Log can create the required log directly from the application. In Subsurface it's the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" checkbox. In Diving Log enable the "Log errors" checkbox, and then when the download fails, click the "Show error logfile" link to open the error log.
The alternative is to run the libdivecomputer universal test application, and run it with these options:
Die Beschreibung auf der Subsurface Website legt tatsächlich einen Update auf 4.0.3 nahe.
"Randomly Subsurface 4.0.2 doesn’t correctly download files from a dive computer".
Leider habe ich auch mit dieser Version identisches (Fehl)Verhalten.
Bei mir tritt das auch nicht randomly auf, sondern constantly.
I already have a build of the libdivecomputer dll available, which includes a fix for this problem. Just download it from the libdivecomputer website, drop it into the Diving Log installation directory (backup the existing dll, just in case) and downloading should work again. If not, follow the instructions in my previous reply.
I downloaded libdivecomputer-0.dll and dropped it into the Diving Log installation directory (overwriting the existing dll), but download still did not work.
Then I tried with universal test application, but the program window pops up and shut down immediately, before I can do anything with it.
OSTC Companion 0.21.1 is the only software which seems to work with my OSTC 3, right now.
I assume you just double-clicked the universal.exe application.
Unfortunartely this does not work.
Instead you have to do the following:
- connect your OSTC3 to your PC
- open your PC's command prompt window, e.g. from start->all_programs->accessories
- use the CD command to tell the command prompt window to change the directory to where your universal.exe is located at, e.g. type
CD C:\Users\MadMax\...yourpath...
(or copy your path by clicking in the address line of your explorer window, press CTRL Insert, then right-click in your command prompt window and choose Insert)
- press the Enter key
- type
universal.exe -v -l ostc3.log -d ostc3.xml -b ostc3 COMx
(replace COMx by your serial port, e.g. COM7)
- press the Enter key
- now you can see the application run
This creates two files ostc3.log and ostc3.xml in the path chosen above.
Send these to TnT for analysis.
Bernd is correct. You can't just double click the universal.exe application because it's a commandline application and you need to pass the correct options. If you are having trouble to run a commandline application, you can also generate the logfile directly from divinglog or subsurface, as I described in my first post above:

Subsurface and Diving Log can create the required log directly from the application. In Subsurface it's the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" checkbox. In Diving Log enable the "Log errors" checkbox, and then when the download fails, click the "Show error logfile" link to open the error log.

If someone has the same problem: This happens when you delete your logbook (e.g. to get rid of our test dive) with the 1.22.
We have now uploaded the 1.23 for the OSTC3, which fixes this. "Fix" (For those affected here) means wait until the PC software makers have included the workaround from libdivecomputer or delete your logbook again with the 1.23.

Definitely yes: it's exactly what i did.

I tried again after upgrading to v1.23, but everything is gone in the same way.

If you are already affected by this problem, then upgrading to the v1.23 firmware will not help, unless you erase your logbook again. But then all your dives will be gone of course...
Instead, just replace the libdivecomputer dll with the latest build from the libdivecomputer website, and you should be able to download dives again from Diving Log or Subsurface.
