OSTC pPO2 Auto-switch

Post by Anonymous User »

I noted on exiting a dive that the Setpoint for CCR deco was not where I had set it.

What rules are implemented exactly for Setpoint auto-switch on the OSTC (standard with no O2 cell board)?

To be more precise on the question,

If I reach on ascent 6 meters with a manual setpoint of 1.3 pPO2, and switch the eCCR to a 0.7 pPO2 setpoint and ascend to the surface but I leave the OSTC manual setpoint to 1.3 pPO2, what happens to the OSTC?

Does it autoswitch to the 0.7 pPO2 setpoint on ascent say at 3 meters (if 0.7 pPO2 was set as the first setpoint in the list in the OSTC)?

If I then redescend after a minimal surface interval, which setpoint for deco will the OSTC retain (i.e. 0.7 pPO2 or 1.3 pPO2)?

If instead the surface interval is longer, which setpoint for deco will the OSTC retain in the 2nd dive (i.e. 0.7 pPO2 or 1.3 pPO2)?

I am thinking about situations where I am sump diving or cave diving and I may be briefly during a dive go quite shallow and then go deeper again as to what happens to the OSTC manual pPO2 setpoint for the deco calcualtion (i.e. will it change the setpoint if I do not change it and then end-up with the wrong setpoint if I do not reset again).

I was in that situation today and I found the setpoint not where I wanted it due to possible auto-switching features.

My OSTC's are not doing any automatic PPO2 switching.
I'm still using 1.29 and 1.30

If you set as second pPO2 setpoint in the setpoint list 1.1 (or say 1.3), and first 0.7, and start the dive at 0.7, then change to 1.1, and then you ascend and leave the setpoint on theOSTC at 1.1, on the next dive, do you have a 0.7 setpoint or a 1.1 setpoint as active on the OSTC.

I have 0.7 as active although I surfaced with a 1.1 being active.

I have my three setpoints set to 1,0 / 1,2 and 1,4 PO2, default is 1,2.
Whatever setpoint i choose when diving it will remain the same thruout the dive.
Only when the OSTC switches off and then on again it automatically switches to the default setting 1,2.

I am confused on how to set on the OSTC a default setpoint.

My Setpoint 1 is 0.7; Setpoint 2 is 1.1; Setpoint 3 is 1.3.

No way I can see to make any of the 3 in the Menu a special default setpoint, unless Setpoint 1 is automatically the default 1 as 0.7 is what the Setpoint seem to return to from one dive to the next, even if the OSTC is left to Setpoint 2 or Setpoint 3 at the end of a dive.

Yep, that´s it, #1 is always default.
From sleep-mode it will always resume with the default #1 setpoint.

That's it. The OSTC currently always starts a new dive with SP1.

I do not remember the default, but I will set 5 minutes as the CF gap between one dive and the next (I presume there is such CF function, but I have not had time to look).
