Limits and battery lifetime

Hey,

I see that the temperature range is 0°C till 45°C. What about dives in the winter in belgium, germany, the netherlands, ...? What about journey's to fe. Egypt? does this give any problems? Water temp is normally between 4°C and 30°C but temp in my car can drop below 0°C and in storage on a boat in egypt I can mention it's above 45°C.

What's the battery lifespan without charging the unit? How many divehours? I don't want to take my notebook when I go on holiday.

Any news on the presure sensor yet?

I'm about to buy a new dive computer. I tested the OSTC and Cochran and I like the OSTC very much but now I see Suunto is coming with the Helo wich also seems to be a nice computer. I don't have a rebreather (...yet). Which are the benefits you think the OSTC has to other computers?

Compare to the Suunto, I would say that the deco model is not a black box (RGBM suunto). Which really something I do not like. For sure, I would wait to know more about length of deco vs know computer before to buy it.

For OSTC: You can set your GF, change one gas during your dive.

Cochran, I do not know it so much. A friend has it and it does not give so much deco for the standard setting.

One battery charge is fine for about 40 hours of diving.
An USB charger (the one for the mobile phone or GPS navigator for example) can be used to recharge the OSTC.

If you're still waiting for others in favor of the ostc: me!
I've had a few computers so far (not that many, but still), and the ostc is still my favourite by far:
1/ free and resent software on the ostc as well as on your pc (also freeware, if you want, like jdivelog) at anytime
2/ possibility for additional hardware etc
3/ small and very well readable (the best one so far, better readable than the large non-OLED-computers), and I don't need a lamp to shine on it to read it (which means I can wear it on the hand where may lamp is), especially in dark water
4/ service (you will get help, if there's an issue)
5/ open model, very adaptable to own wishes - this makes planning (with freeware of course) very easy and accurate
6/ very easy to operate, without any unknown stuff going on inside, or vague parameters to set.
7/ if you're going for more technical dives, it's just, well... a cheap one .
8/ ...

Well, anyway, it's just, especially for that price, by far the best computer you can get, imho, unless you want to compare it with a standard €200 computer, which is not for any technical diving, hard to read, and rather full of vague parameters and probably an old decomodel (and certainly an old decomodel after 2 years ). If you don't realize it yet, I'm quite positive about the ostc .
