Vertical Speed Indicator on New OSTC 2
Hello everyone
I was wondering how the VSI is displayed on the new OSTC2 (can't find info) and if the vertical speed limit can be modified in set up screen as it is on the previous version (ex OSTC 2N)
cheers
Philippe

Vertical speed is shown in m/min and a graphical speed indicator will be available soon. Vertical speed limit is fixed 10m/min currently.

Hallo Matthias,
Kannst du uns einen Vorgeschmack geben wie der grafische aussehen wird???

Sounds great! I prefer graphical to numbers wherever possible. Max.

Don't count on too many more graphical elements - I prefer numbers with SI units behind them.

Hi Matthias - thought the OSTC/HeinricksWeikamp mantra was freedom to choose? Not criticising, but curious why the change to mandate things like this on owners?

Any chance that some averaging can be built into the indication ?
At the present it is incredibly volatile even moving my arm in the water column is > 10m/min !
A configurable average would be great.
Maybe it is in there and I have not seen it.

Hi Paul,
I found the same issue with the indication. It would require a new algorithm to calculate the rates (and not how to visualize it) e.g. with longer time interpolation...

Yea - to be honest its the only disapointing feature of the whole tool - the rest is the best dive computer I have used.
Without some form of rolling average all you have is an instantanious readout of ascent rate which can be either +18m/m or zero all within a second or two which for ascent rate controll is not optimum.
A rolling average over (wild ass guess) 15 seconds would make this whole feature much more use - I would take a punt that my (now redundant) Suunto had an average of about 10 seconds.
