Hi All,
I recently purchased an OSTC sport and now I want to connect it to my laptop using bluetooth.
I'm using a surface pro 3 (builtin bluetooth) on windows 10.
When I enable BT on the OSTC, I can connect to 2 different devices.
1) OSTSc1
2) OSTCs 12343 (that seems to match the serial number on my device
When I pair with the 1st, it pairs ok but no com ports are being created. When I Pair with the second, 2 com-ports are created, an incoming and an outgoing.
With neither of the two pairings I get asked for a pincode (not sure if that is normal)
So I tested mostly with the second one but when I want to connect the OSTC Companion on either of the comports it won't connect.
It immediatly says :unable to open port.
FYI, in the companion I Can only select the outgoing port from the config menu, but manually entering the incoming port gives the same result.
Also when using diving log 6.0, i can't download my dives on either of the ports.
INFO: Open: name=COM10
ERROR: Access is denied (5) [in serial_win32.c:152 (serial_open)]
ERROR: Failed to open the serial port. [in hw_ostc3.c:298 (hw_ostc3_device_open)]
INFO: Open: name=COM11
ERROR: Element not found (1168) [in serial_win32.c:152 (serial_open)]
ERROR: Failed to open the serial port. [in hw_ostc3.c:298 (hw_ostc3_device_open)]
Other bluetooth devices (such as my mouse) work without any issue.
Any advice is appreciated !
Thanks,
Tom

Re: OSTC Sport & Windows 10
As an update :
I know that KB3093266 should fix these issues but I'm in Windows insider fast-ring.
As such this update isn't applicable to me (but my current windows build (10515) should incorporate these fixes already )
Any other suggestions ?

Windows build 10515 is old and does not have the fix.
First build with the fix included was 10532.

Re: OSTC Sport & Windows 10
Thanks,
This morning a new update came out : build 10565 and there is progress !
I am now able to connect to my Sport, change my name. But firmware updates fail.
It starts uploading the firmware but verification always fails. (i also re-downloaded the firmware from the website)
What I also noticed is that the progress bar in the companion tool isn't in sync with what is displayed on the OSTC.
There seems to be 2 or 3% difference , maybe that has something to do with it ?
Or could there be another reason for this firmware update to fail ?
Thanks!

Re: OSTC Sport & Windows 10
Hi
I Try to update to 10.21 : failed
Install last updates from Windows 10 (I don't know if they are related to BT)
Desintall Companion
Cleaning registers
Install Companion
BT on Sport and a few seconds after, 10.21 is OK on it.
Great.
After that, I installed "official" 4.5 Subsurface and I'm able to see my dives on it.
Great
