Just returned from a dive holiday where prior to a dive the battery level was 50% but as Sport switched on and I changed display to show compass bearing the low battery warning appeared and within less than 5 mins the whole thing died!
It was a shallow dive and managed with my buddy and his computer to finish the dive, when I could replace the battery.
Why would it die so quickly from 50%?
What would you consider to be reasonable from warning to dead?
Battery 50% to dead almost immediately?
Re: Battery 50% to dead almost immediately?
Hi Finewine,
the point is, that the battery level is an estimated guess and not a measurement.
OSTC thinks that the battery has an given capacity and reduces this given number during the runtime.
So, if the battery in real life has not this capacity, the calculation is wrong.
What battery are you using (original Saft)?
Maybe that was an old battery, or just a bad one.
Regards
Rob

Yep, original saft 3.6 and use by 2017 so should have been okay?
