Re: New 3.00 Firmware
Hi all,
Did the update to 3.0 a couple of days ago and I have read what you guys wrote about the Ceiling. But I still don't really get what its added value would be.
Can someone explain to me with a diving example where I could/would use the ceiling feature.

in few words :
deco stop are defined every 3m (10 feet) since Haldane.
this means that when the real calcul of supersaturation defines you gotta stop at 4.4m, your OSTC shows you a deco stop at 6m.
The new feature CEIL displays ... 4.4m
According to the algorithm Bulhmann + GF, you can't go above this limit."
--> in my eyes this is only informationally. I don't use this feature.

Am einfachsten ist es mit dem "OSTC Planner", der ist allerdings nicht kostenlos.
Wenn kein Windows zur Verfügung steht geht auch "Jdivelog" zum updaten, ist aber deutlich komplizierter.

If you don't care about 3, 6, 9, ... Meter stopps, than you can follow your ceiling. But then the safety margin is zero...

Re: New 3.00 Firmware
If the decostop is crowded or the water is warmer higher then the information how far you can go is good to know

Re: New 3.00 Firmware
It matches the ceiling on my Inspiration Vison nicely, so very useful feature for my backup computer on CCR.
Re: New 3.00 Firmware
When always staying 1 meter below ceiling you are safe and you have the perfect ascent speed.

Hello,
What is mirror effect? Is the screen upside-down? Which serial number is your Mk.2?
Regards,
Matthias

Hi,
Looks weird. And this is one the counterfeit OSTC's out there. You're not expecting support for this here, do you?

Matthias

Re: New 3.00 Firmware
Hi Matthias,
A counterfeit OSTC? Does it exist? Can you tell us more abut this?
I know about the russian version os the MK2 but never heard of a counterfeit product.

Re: New 3.00 Firmware
i'm having trouble upgrading the firmware from 2.7 to 3.02
i'm using ostc planner 2.95 beta. the boot loader starts, but then gets "aborted"
the ostc planner software than says: "Cannot sync firmware upgrade. Cannot detect chip". what can this be?

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having the same error message using OSTC Planner. Subsurface worked.
