Imperial Units
Imperial Units
Just recently got a new OSTC 4 and mostly love it. One thing I've noticed though is that while I switched it to use "feet/Fahrenheit", I'm only seeing that take effect on the actual depth. The ceiling, ascent rate, deco plan, deco stops and all of the depth related settings (including MODs for gasses) still show meters. Kind of a big bummer. Am I missing something here?

Re: Imperial Units
Hello drice.
imperical is not integrated in all parts of the dive screen. Only depth, max depth and temperature at the moment. But this can be adjusted in the next updates.

Christian

Re: Imperial Units
Thanks Christian for the quick response. Is this something that is a priority and is there an estimate as to when key parts such as deco stops will be complete?
Where I dive and who I dive with, everything is imperial and not having the deco stops align with the visible depth makes this not very safe unless used only as a bottom timer. Just need to know if this is something that I should return.

Re: Imperial Units
Hi Christian,
The imperial changes in the new firmware are very much appreciated. I did have some feedback though, that hopefully may be able to be addressed in an upcoming release:
* While in the settings menu (and main screen) the selected values display as imperial, when setting them, the options are still metric. This may seem minor, but led to a couple small annoyances, specifically around deco/safety stops. When setting the last deco stop/safety stop, I'm given the options of 3, 4, 5 meters. Because of the conversion, I don't have a way to select 15' which is what I would have preferred - I instead get 16' which leaves the computer "angry" at me when I'm following my planned deco schedule. It would be great if when setting these, the values were in feet (10, 15, 20).
* The same would apply to gas switches when adding a new gas. It would be great to be able to select the depth in feet instead of in meters
* The log book still displays values in metric, it'd be great to see depths, etc in imperial here

Re: Imperial Units
It looks like in the large text mode, decompression stops are still shown in metric as well

Re: Imperial Units
Hi Christian,
Thanks for the update. I'm hoping to go out next week and will give it a try. At a quick glance the only changes I am seeing are deco stops in large text mode are now imperial and when entering gasses I am given the option to enter imperial - however, the logbook (minor) and last deco/safety stop are still metric. Just wanted to make sure that those were not intended to be fixed in this beta.
Also, would it be possible to maybe add some spacing between the depth and time on the stops (especially when in large text mode) or to move the single quote to be after the depth instead of the time. At a glance a 1 minute stop at 70 feet reads as "701'", which isn't super clear. A single quote does denote "feet", so logically it would also make sense to just write it as "70'1"

Re: Imperial Units
Hi,
attached is a Version 1.3.3 beta with hopefully all fixed and in both units, except for Farenheit in logbook graphics.

Re: Imperial Units
Hi Christian,
Thanks again for the quick turn around! Overall looks really good and the readout is much improved on deco stops.
The only issue I'm still really seeing is the last deco stop and safety stop. The options are still 10, 13, 16, 20 - which is less than ideal. Instead of 13 & 16 can we just have 15'? Most planning software gives the options of 10, 15 & 20, so it would be nice to have the last stop align w/ what was planned.
Again, thank you so much for all of the quick work that you've been doing. It's very much appreciated.
