problem with reading depth

Post by spaniel »

Hi Gents

Was on a deep wreck safari in eygpt this week and had very serious problem with
computer reading depth. 1 st day worked fine but second day and onwards computer read a depth of 9.1 mtrs but i was at a depth of 83 mtrs, this meant all deco was wrong, when got to surface log book read a 142.2 mtr dive, when i went into that dive a really weird profile came up and then the computer went blank. Had to reset the computer. Had to do run times after that, but took the computer with me, it happened on happened every dive after that, now the computer wont charge or even turn on.

I was diving 1.40 version, using 1.25 set point, closed circuit gradient factor 30/85. Has anyone else had problems like this.

Hello,

This is definitely a hardware problem, most likely with the pressure sensor. Please contact us using info@heinrichsweikamp.com - we'll take care of that.

another egypt problem, curse of the farao

no seriously it's not the first ostc wich has problems in egypt. I think you should look into to that to see what causes the ostc to crash.
maybe the temperature in egypt, salt water, flight to egypte, ...

@spaniel: happened to me too but by the good service of H&W i got my OSTC back real quick and didn't had any problems anymore

I never had any issue with mine neither in Dubai nor in Egypt.
So it can't be the heat or the flying, nor can it be the arabic environment. ;->
Mine only failed once in the eastern part of Germany. :-O
