Hi,
just arrived from a dive and really worried.
The facts have been the following:
I have started the dive normally. the OSTC works correctly.
At 26' we go up to the surface. OSTC keeps on working.
12' later we descend again.
when we go start the return I look at the OSTC to see the compass and I find the black screen. The OSTC has stopped working.I try to opérate pressing the buttons but nothing happens. An unpleasant surprise.
When I finish the dive and already on the ground I press the buttons again and the OSTC turns on. The battery symbol is red and it shows 0%.
I look at the logbook and see that two dives have been recorded, although the second shows a gas change that I have not made.
When I get home I look at it more closely and see the following information:
Dive 2: 17m 26' Batt: 3.935V 74%
Dive 1: 18m 59' Batt: 2.974V 0%
In the loogbook Dive 1 shows a gas change to NX29 at 24'.In the subsurface the gas changed is air.
I try to recharge the OSTC via inductive charging, as I usually do. The pad is illuminated permanently in green. After a while, I look and the green light is gone. There is no light. I check that the pad has not moved and turn on the OSTC. The battery symbol is yellow and it shows 32%
I remove the OSTC from the pad and place it back to keep loading. After a while I look again and I find that there is no light. This time, when I turn it on, the battery shows 100%
Right now I am quite worried. This dive was simple, I knew it and it was a NDL dive.
But next weekend I am planning to do a technical dive and this situation leaves me very unquiet.
I do not understand why the screen has been turned off in the middle of a dive with a 74% battery.
I do not understand why it makes a change to the gas that was not planned. All gases were disabled except the first one and it is air.
I do not understand why in the logbook it shows a change to NX29 and in the subsurface to air.
I do not understand why when the battery is recharged, it remains at 32%.
Even though the battery is currently 100%, I do not trust it and it is impossible to know if it is really charged or not.
what could have happened?
Regards.
Ion.

Don't do that.
From here, I'd say it's some fault of the battery or battery contacts. This is not a software issue.
