Hello,
ENGLISH:
The new hwOS tech (for OSTC3, OSTC plus, OSTC+, cR, OSTC 2 and OSTC sport (mod. 19)) firmware 3.24 is now available for download:
https://heinrichsweikamp.com/service/firmwares
Using OSTC+ or OSTC cR with external O2-Monitoring? Make sure to install the firmware with "_cr_" in the file name to keep the O2-Monitoring option available!
[3.24]
CHANGE: Add voltage-based battery meter for OSTC+/PLUS when inserting batteries with unknown SOC
CHANGE: Compatibility for new hardware versions
CHANGE: Language updates
BUGFIX: Release and "Update" dates fixed
[3.22]
FIX: minor fix of 12h time update in dive mode
NEW: Add charge cycle counter
NEW: Add surface customview 11: NoFly, Desat and CNS
NEW: Show # of descends in Apnoe mode
CHANGE: Compatibility for new hardware versions
CHANGE: do not show the "slow" in the alternative layout
CHANGE: minor adjustment of depth position in large layout
[3.21]
FIX: Wrong release date in 3.20 showed "Update!" message prematurely

FIX: BLE was on after first reboot (until sleepmode kicks in)
[3.20]
Bugfix: Some USB hardware version showed USB mode insetad of BLE Mode
[3.19]
BUGFIX: Increase resolution of tissue pressure calculations to track very low pressure differences between ambient and tissue pressures
CHANGE: OSTC with mechanical (magnetic) buttons need both buttons beeing pressed to wake up
CHANGE: Support for new OSTC+ hardware with O2 sensor inputs
CHANGE: Adjust max. brightness settings
CHANGE: reset planning parameters to default values - only when entering the menu,
thus keeping the settings between multiple calculator runs
FIX: the output of the calculation results was divided into several steps, which
could be interrupted in cooperative multitasking. So glitches could occur in the
screen output if e.g. the TTS switched to NDL but the deco data flag vector was
not updated yet. Now the compilation of all calculation results can no longer be
interrupted.
[3.18]
BUGFIX: Properly update desaturation time and tissue data after battery change (OSTC with user-replaceable batteries only)
NEW: Option to suppress non-critical warnings in dive mode

CHANGE: Do not show RX portions of tank setup menu when there is no RX hardware
CHANGE: Low-level code improvements for performance
[3.17]
NEW: Support for current hardware version of OSTC 2, plus and Sport
- a Reset Bluetooth from the Reset Menu might be required for BLE/Bluetooth 4.0 to be enabled
[3.16]
BUGFIX: Sensor detection in OSTC plus could fail for some hardware versions
BUGFIX: calculate time/date of the end of the dive in logbook screen correctly for
dives with a lot of surface time/many descents
NEW: Different brightness settings for dive and surface mode
NEW: minor changes in the different language versions
BUGFIX: Reduce sleep mode current
[3.15]
NEW: Support for new pressure sensor type in OSTC 2 and plus
NEW: Several changes in the different language versions

NEW: Big dive mode menu in big layout view
BUGFIX: fix pulsing brightness in ECO on some hardware versions
CHANGE: support for internal hardware changes
CHANGE: adjust gas density parameters to match upcoming new ISO standard
Please post connection/update-only issues in a new thread.

NEW: Ladezykluszähler hinzugefügt
NEW: Benutzerdefinierte Oberflächenansicht 11 hinzugefügt: NoFly, Desat und CNS
[3.21]
FIX: Falsches Veröffentlichungsdatum in 3.20 zeigte verfrüht "Update!

Re: hwOS TECH: New Firmware 3.24
Hi,
The firmware file names (NNN_LL_2_tr_ostc3_firmware.hex or NNN_LL_3_cr_ostc3_firmware.hex) do not clearly reflect the OSTC to which a particular file applies. Could this be changed in the future ?
Kind regards.

Re: hwOS TECH: New Firmware 3.24
Hi,
I was on Release 3.23 on an OSTC Plus loaded with hitech SW until september 2024. It worked OK with the new battery I had to changed because yours was HS after 2 years. Then in October this year I decide to install the Release 3.24 as advised before I leave for dive holiday in Madagascar.
I noticed something stranged when I wanted to charge the battery with a pad. Actually, I have two pads which gave the same behaviour.
After the dive, OSTC showed 40% remaining. I put it on the pad.
After a couple of seconds, it shows 100% load, amazing. I removed the pad, turned on the OSTC that showed 60%.
I put it again on the pad that displayed 100% after less than a second. I removed the pad, turned on the OSTC that showed 20% then 40% in less than a second.
I put it back on the pad that displayed again 100%. I left it for nearly one hour showing 100%, then the OSTC showed 60%. I continued on the pad, the OSTC showed 80%, never above, as the pad was fixed on 100%.
I dived with it. After the dive I turned on the OSTC the check the Log book. The load was 80% at the beginning and after checking the log book, it became 60%, after a couple of seconds.
OSTC always displayed these values and never intermediate values (eg 61, 62, 63, etc)
I wonder if there is not a problem with Release 3.24
Would you be king enough to check the changes between Release 3.23 and 3.24, to see if there is something to fix.
Best Regards,
Yves
