Battery capacity

Hi,

My computer (#666) now has more than 2,000 dives and it discharges very quickly. After a full 100% recharge, it discharges around 20% per day even without diving.

My question: after how many dives should the battery be replaced? Can I do this myself?

I can see about the same issue with my OSTC4 and have asked the same question some days ago.

Hi,

2000+ dives is a lot. I would recommend that we check the unit here. We have tools to measure the actual current consumption and test the battery. From a distance, it is impossible to give a serious reason for something like this.

I’d probably start by checking the battery contacts and doing a full reset/calibration cycle first. A lot of odd dive computer behavior seems to come from power or sensor initialization glitches after updates or battery changes. Hopefully it’s something simple and not a hardware fault.
